I have mentioned a few times on the board that I was job hunting becuase my job is funded by a government grant which ends in september. Well I have been looking for a job since The end of June. I am an experienced IT guy and a little over a year ago I completed my MBA but I have been living and working for the university since '99.(therefore no industry experience) Anyway I wanted to get into IT audit which is a really good field right now and I thought it would be a good fit with what I like and the pay is pretty good. If you want to do this though you gotta get a job with a big 4 accounting firm (4 largest firms in the world)or a public accouting firm for the most part. Well after TONS of online apps and a now worn out laptop I have a job in Dallas.
I will be working for Grant Thornton and I am soooo ready. They are the number 5 firm in the world and concentrate on mid cap to small cap companies. So far everyone seems really cool except for the fact that I am busting my tail to get moved. (dallas is 4 hrs away). And I'll be moving a week from wednesday and I don't have a place yet. I'm gonna live in an apartment for a while until I get ready to buy a house which won't be cheap in Dallas but it's all good.
On that note if any of our dallas members wanna get together I'm always up for some modding, I have tons of tools but unfortunately for the next 9 months or so nowhere to use them. :(
Also I hear that it's gonna take a couple of weeks for me to get my internet hooked up but if anyone wants to contact me they can through my hotmail account, by next friday I'll have a laptop and can walk over to the country club and use their wireless. I'm gonna be living in the village off greenville, I look forward to hearing from some of cool dallas memebers :cool:
