I was watching this car show and they were talking about a 1970 Nova that came with a Lt-1 in it. i thought Lt-1's didnt come out till the early 90's? i think it was the yenko nova they were talking about. What gives?

They have always been called LT1's it has just been changed over the years. Not to many people know the old 350's as LT1's but the really were.

there used to be another LS6 too, thats what the 454 that came in the chevelle ss was named if i'm not mistaken. and there have been several engines named HEMI, but thats not really a code name thing as much as a hemispherical-shaped combustion chamber thing

Z06 is also an old name that was reborn. I think it's from the 60's.

Wow,that pretty intresting. Usually when someone says "Lt-1" i automatically think of the 350 from the 90's. Is it because the 90's Lt-1's were so popular that when someone mentions the Lt-1 most people think of the newer ones?
