• Oil filler Cap

It time for an oil change, and I haven't had the time. My car was running a low on oil, so right before work, I popped the hood, unsrew the filler cap place it on my battery and top it off. Im just a little distracted because I don't currently have hood struts, and I didn't want to go looking for my hood prop. So while I am balancing the hood with one arm and holding the funnel and bottle in the other. I fill er up, remove the funnel and close up the hood.

My problem is I left the cap on the battery and drove off. I have no idea where it is.

So my question is, anybody have a spare they wanna sell, or can check my part number? My manual says its should be 24804599. But GMpartsdirect.com doesn't have it listed under that. I gave them an email, but wanted to share my story.

I actually have a spare that came off my Camaro when I did the same thing. Eventually I found the original, but I still have this spare one if you want it. I will give it to you for free, just pay for the shipping.

check advance or autozone... sometimes those "HELP!" parts are direct replacements. i know they at least have gas caps; not sure about an oil neck cap though.

Jeff let me know if you still need a spare next week.
I am going home this Saturday, my dad has a few extra ones. I'll be coming back next Saturday... you can have it then.

well, i did that in my old 350 blazer... drove around for a few hours... didn't spray oil everywhere or anything. i think it's more for peace of mind than anything else, but maybe if you corner hard or something you will actually lose oil.

Nevermind Bat. I think Im going to get a breather type.

Im going to use the same ole excuse to mod, if something stock breaks, might as well replace it with a performance part. Even if it is just a oil cap.

And Just FYI, I got an email back from GMpartsdirect.com the part number is 12573338.
The sell if for about two and a half bucks. But im going breather cap.

Somebody find one online for me
