• SO, I get pulled over... 101 in 55

Cop was cool though... he listed like 5 different violations totalling $1600+ in fines, but gave me only two - 101mph in 55mph and negligent driving.

Now, the thing is I passed his car (that I didn't see) and then floored it up-to around 90-ish, then slowed down...

When I asked him how he got speed reading, he said he paced me, but how could he pace me... I wasn't going steady fast. I just did a burst of speed and then started slowing down.

He said I can show up in court if I wanted to, but then judge might reinstate charges that he dropped (like 3 others including reckless driving).

Total in fines is 800$ and points might not get transfered to VA (got pulled over in MD)... which I think is good. He said he can't gurantee though and points might get transfered, but usually they don't transfer them.

I think I need to talk to a lawyer... man I love MD... In VA it would be mandatory court hearing with me having to hire a lawyer and then pay sh*tload of fines...

I will have to agree with Skapimp and ArtFart on this. Why the hell were you driving that fast in the first place? Nevermind, there is no reason you should EVER be driving that fast on public roads.

Pay up and be happy that you are lucky as hell you still have a liscense.

Wooey. Consider yourself lucky.
Bend over, pay it, and learn.

I'm not going to pull out the bs like "WTF WERE U DOIN THIS. IM AN ANGEL" card. You know you screwed up, now just deal with the consequences.

I got antsy many weeks ago and got going pretty darn good, lucky for me the cop didn't have me on radar. Nailed me with a screeching tire moving violation ticket and I already cleared it by going to traffic school. Since then I have been behaving. Taught me a lesson.

Maybe one day you'll learn, but my prediction is it'll be to late to avoid something unpleasant; and I’m not talking about a ticket or losing your license (you do the math).

Get a lawyer - even if its not to get you out of trouble - at least you wont get shafted.

Dont get a fake me out lawyer - get a real one. Believe it or not, lawyers are there to protect your rights - some lawyers even know that.

Definatley get a lawyer. I got pulled over for street racing with a suspended liscense while I was in VA beach this summer, and for $500 bucks the lawyer got all my charges dropped.

You got pulled over on the beltway didn't you? The speed limit there is techinically 55mph, but people (even cops) don't ever go below about 75-80mph.

Don't listen to those tools that say you were going too fast and being unsafe. They have never been in DC metropolitan traffic. You and I know how it really is. ;)

lol, I lived in VA. for 5 years. I have been up and down the Eastern seaboard and there is no reason to drive 101. Besides 101 is a far cry from 80. Don't encourage this guy, he gets into enough trouble on his own. He (historically) is an unsafe safe driver. Search this forum if you do not know what I am talking about (namely failure to maintain control of a vehicle comes to mind amongst others....). He needs to slow down.....

Yea, oh well. I go fast too on the highway, but only when its safe (i.e. no traffic, no cops for sure), and only mainly at night.

Just pay it and get on with everything, its not that bad.

damn..1 mph faster than mine lol...yes...consider yourself lucky...i got the orange jump suit for a few days for that one...although my gf did say it looked nice on me...thanks babe ;) ...anyways..the points shouldnt transfer since it was out of state...defintely get a lawyer...a lot of it will depend on your record...it was actually unlawful for judges to use your record against you up until recent laws changed...it showed bias which you could them make a movement to dismiss based on the judicial misconduct...if you want to fight the ticket you can request adjournments to obtain maintainance records and the cops log book for the day from public records...they hate when you do that...or...if your record is somewhat decent...you'll probably get it knocked down to 80...then after that...slap yourself in the back of the head and dont do it again
