Well this is my first cavity and im scared ****less. I HATE dentists. I was thinking about doing that laser thing since their ad says no needles. How good is the fanangled laser stuff? :( :****spants:

Yep, needles, drills, poking at your teeth with a little metal hook tool... I hate going to the dentist. I have full benefits and am suppose to get 2 free teeth cleanings a year. I don't even use them. I'd rather brush, floss and use listerine 2-3 times a day than have someone picking at my teeth to tell me they have to drill.

Years ago, I had to be rushed to the emergency room because I had silver amalgam in my stomach that actually paralyzed me for about 2 hours. The f'in dentist's assistant didn't suck the chips out of my mouth while the dentist was drilling and I was swallowing my saliva along with chips of filling. I had to be tested for mercury poisoning and everything. And the ironic thing of it all was that after the doctor told me what it was (and I got a hold of the x-rays that showed 10 chips in my stomach and called the dentist) he then backtracked his story to cover for the dentist and denied that the fillings had anything to do with me being in the hospital. Nice people, huh?

Ive had about 4 i think. All but one the old fashined way and the 4th with the laser. Do the laser no doubt, no pain and i was out in 15 minutes. Dont be scared its not big deal.

ive never had any, but im only 15. i just went to the dentist like 2 weeks ago. but i got some really pretty girl [img]graemlins/naughty.gif[/img] she kept saying how she's still in training and she doesnt know what she's doing yet. so i was scared. but it wasnt too bad.

yeah.. cavities arent that big a deal.. i used to get them filled without novacain. but i now recommend it.. the little prick of hte needle helps a lot.. you just cant drink anything til the numbness wears off.... dont worry too much..

My wife had 9 teeth pulled because of an extremely rare dental condition. Neither the dentist or the oral surgen had seen anything like it before. Her crowns of her teeth pushed together causing them to crack.

i had 5 cavities at the beginning of the summer. 3 on the right and 2 on the left. they filled one of the ones on the right without any novacaine and it wasnt like a stabbing pain, but it was definately not comfortable, it kept sending shivers down my back and making me jump sort of. the others i couldnt feel, but for some reason it took almost 8 hours to feel my mouth. the next day they did the ones on the left, which were on the bottom, so they had to numb the bone and i kept biting my tongue.
not bad though i guess, just not fun.

Quit drinkin pop (Soda or Coke for you wierd southerners).

The last time I've had a cavity was the same year I quit drinking pop every day... 1998. Havn't had a cavity since then.
