  • Q for anyone into bodybuilding

I am looking into building up my legs and I am trying to do lunges, squats and occasionally riding my road bike (starting to get more time now).

I am looking for a good suppliment. Do I want something with a lot of protein? Say 40 or more grams per serving? I am looking to buy from www.bodybuilding.com (they have a ton of stuff)

BTW I am 5ft 2in 112 lbs, half asian/american. My arms are toned (guys at work always joke about them) so what I really need to work on is my lower body.

Do some leg extensions and leg curls also. A supplement wont replace a good workout, only help it. Some say you need 1.5x your body weight of protein but I think thats only for the ones who actually compete and need all they can get. The last time I took protein I only too 30-40 grams per day and I saw great results. I have come to believe the extra 100+ grams you take only show minimal gains.

Get some Designer Whey at Costco if your a member there. Whey = best kind of protein to take right after you workout. Wouldnt drink more than 40 grams of Whey per day. Thats all the supplementation I would bother with. The rest of your protein should come from poultry, lean beef, cottage cheese etc. I'd aim for 100 grams of protein per day. That site you gave should have all the articles you need to figure the rest out for your diet and exercise routine

There is Designer Whey at that site too... I just ordered a smaller size (2lbs) of that to try. Its 15.99. I also added some protein bars to my cart so i can have those at work.

I like "Lean Body" for women in vanilla. It's real good. Tastes like a milk shake and has 45grams of protein in one serving!
