  • NC running out of gas...

yup, all the gas stations within 15 miles are officially out of 87. The price for 87 was 2.67 at noon today when I filled up, about 10pm i get a call from my dad saying to go ahead and top off my tank because two pipelines supplying NC with fuel are without power and there is no telling when they will be operative again. When I get to the gas station I look and 87 is $3.45 a gallon!!! I absolutely couldnt believe it. People around here are gonna be pulling tricks for gas before long...

Yeah, gas isn't looking too good here in FL either. And its especially dissapointing when you're planning to go on a 4hr drive this weekend. :(

I wonder if it's happening here in Calif. A couple of the pumps are out and some that working are going very slow.

70's gas crisis again. I wonder if we will ever tap into our reserves.

They already have, but oil supply is not the problem, it's refineries capacity to turn the crude oil into usable fuel.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but prices are going up because of supply and demand correct? So supply is low, demand is high. So some schmuck somewhere is saying, gee, getting gas anywhere is going to be tough as hell, so I can jack my prices up to a ridiculous amount and people will pay for it?

What im asking is, is there more to this than just supply and demand?

bigger question...... we are coming into harvest season.... will farmers be able to afford or have enough fuel to harvest crops? What will this do to food prices? evereything has to be shipped.

Yea, im gonna have to agree with ellik. Everything is going to go up, because almost everything uses gas in some way. Here in Charlotte i can't even find a station that has any gas. I hope this works out otherwise no one is going to be driving for a while.....
