Gotta say the LS1...if something craps out....just replace it. You run 13's easy...unless you suck at the driver mod.

LS1 obviously. Powerful, strong motor (besides piston slap), lots of mods, well known motor.

LT1s are old, high milage, and its hard to find low miles and a good body.

VR4s are expensive and higher milage than any of the cars I bet. My friend loves them and we went searching for them. People say they retain their value, but thats only because they cost about $40-45k brand new back in the days 94-99. So you'll find one with like 150k miles going for $15k still. Also they were pretty limited production, they're not a car you'll find daily. My friend picked up a '92 VR4 in really bad shape for $3k, but is putting about $10k of work back into the tranny, engine and body.

But also watch out for insurance costs.

LS1 for sure. My buddy has a dodge stealth R/T TT and its the same thing as a VR4 and that thing costs a lot to fix. Dont those things weigh a **** load too? Insurance will be bad on all those cars tho.

The Lt1, newest one you will buy is gonna be 8 years old already. And honestly seems like the ls1 is a little cheaper to maintain(well except for brakes)

LT1- lower insurance than a ls1 and still a blast to drive.

vr4 is a quick car but read up on them, not very dependable...... most need a complete rebuild by 60k

ls1 hands down. the VR4 would have problems with the tranny and the LT1 would be needing a new optispark b/c of age. also a ls1 with high miles will most likely have lots of highway miles. also the ls1 is easier to work on than a lt1(think headers)

I voted for VR4 because those things are a blast to drive and handles corners like there's no tomorrow. Plus, it's a rare car.

Yeah, it is expensive to fix when it breaks.

Depends on the mileage on the VR-4. I dunno where you guys are reading that they aren't reliable because I know alot of people that have them (because of my brother) and they are very reliable if you ask me. My friend Bobby has one and is running 12s (with mostly weight reduction mods) with a motor that has 160k miles on it. But for me, it would depend on the mileage of the VR4 and the LS1 because damn if the LT1 has the least miles I'd buy it.

I have a cousin that has a 3000GT and it does break. I guess it's does depend how you drive and I know how he drives his. The parts are expensive and that car is alot harder to fix than an F-body.
