Using manuals isnt cheating guys, you have to know how to do things right with clearences and tq specs and such.

        I said 8...
I am easily a 7, but I noticed 10 had body, work and I have learned and started to do alot of body work stuff, so I bumped it up to a 8.

Also there are other things... I have been in situations where peopel would have been stranded, but I managed a way to take care of the problem...

Good example, lost a Caliper bolt ~5pm on friday, caliper falls loose and is grinding on one of the wheels. Dealership is closed, auto stores don't carry or have to wait a week for it, but I managed to work something out in ~45 minutes, get my tire rebalanced(lost my wheel weights) and got my car ready to go, drove home went to bed woke up and drove 2 hours to compete in a race event with 12 ~75 second runs on a road course.

Just situations where my car has failed me and I have gotten it to work and be up and running with minimal tools and parts to do it.

This is a bad question. I've built complete motors, I can build rear ends, i can do all the mechanic work on a car, but I havent ever rebuilt a transmission. Its not that I cant, i've just never tried. I can't do paint and body though.

You know I forgot to mention brakes, as part of number 4. But this is good though. Good feedback, eventhough I'm a good 5 & 6 on my truck and my wife's car. I'm only a 4 on my firebird.

I don't think it fair that spark plugs are 2. On a normal car, its no problem. But with the 3.8, that **** is hard.

LOL... and wicked, you are easily an 8, when I consider tranny work, I never considered being able to rebuild my own tranny, no one freaking does that people will build everything and the tranny is alwasy sent to a shop. I have torn down some motors(the easy part ;) ), put a few back together, that came out working better then before. Done it in conditions with only a AA maglite to work with.

That scales not very good. I can do pretty much a complete engine rebuild. I could probably figure out how to do a manual tranny rebuild, but never have done it before. So I guess 9

I'm a five .... but can also swap motor/trans ... and nearly any bolt on.

I've been inside my motor, but not "deep" into the motor yet.

                              I hate electrical. lol
