    Here how it goes:

1-Can change oil and rotate tires.

2-Same as 1, but can also do belt and spark plugs.

3-Same as 1&2, but can also do flushing the radiator and changing fluids on the tranny and rear axle.

4-Same as 1,2,&3, but can also change alternator, water pump, and replace radiator.

5-Same as 1,2,3,&4, but can also do electrical wires and computer.

6-Same as 1,2,3,4&5, but can also do some internal engine work: heads, push rod, rockers and so on.

7-Same as 1,2,3,4,5,&6, but can also do tranny work and rear axle.

8-Same as 1,2,3,4,5,6,&7, but can also do complete engine and tranny hauling.

9-Same as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,&8, along with hauling the engine and tranny out, you can also do a rebuilt on both engine and tranny or even replace it with a different engine.

10-Same as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,&9, but you do any mechanical work on the car plus all the body work as well.

i dont know what to vote, I'm 3 b/c i can do 1&2 + radiator flush but I've never changed fluids on tranny or rear axle. but I can change the alternator so that puts me in 4 but i've never done the other 2 things in 4, although i'm sure i could.

    guess i've vote 4

I'll go with 3, but since I bought those gm cds I can really do anything since their pictures are perfect.

7, ive tore up the rear axle a couple of times, the only engine ive ever been inside on my own though was my lawnmower engine. Ive repainted my gfx, but i dont think im at 10.

of course i always cheat, and have hanes manuals and diagrams nearby.

6 here too, I technically could do 7 since I installed a clutch and gears in my Hawk but I can't overhaul a slushbox so I don't consider myself a true 7.

Everything but two catagories: 6 & 7. NEver had to deal w/puling & replacing internal engie parts yet, & I've also had to deal w/clutch issues on the t/a, but that's it.

6 here, some of that would depend on the setup. On my car, I can do the head and the "top end" of the motor. on the L36, I wouldn't mess with the cam and stuff unless I had the time and the place to work on it. I have never personally pulled/tore down/rebuilt an engine but, I have helped a few times.
