go get a CHL and no one will bother you again. if your state doesn't allow it, learn how to use a pen.
That's one of the reasons we carry them....to avoid being the next Rodney King! :D No offense towards you or anything, but I've seen cops that make drug dealers look like choirboys.
What's the point in carrying a gun? Guns are for pussies who are scared they might get their a$$ kicked if they fought like a man. That's bad advice because you'll spend a lot less time in jail for beating somebody's a$$ with nunchucks than you would if you shot them.

I got a nightstick in the car just for this kind of bs.
Yup, assault with a dead weapon is always the best idea in these situations. </font>
You mean you wouldn't fight back? </font>
Not with a deadly weapon
I guess fists/elbows/whatever can be deadly.. but they're not classified that way unless you're a black belt or some ****.

While not the dumbist thing I ever read, it is in the top 5.
Guns are for pussies? Then I guess every one in law enforcement as well as the military are pussies.
Nunchucks are classed as deadly weapons IIRC. I guess those who carry them are afraid they might have their a$$es kicked if they fought like a man.

Just how do so called real men fight anyway? </font>
hand-to-hand, moron. My remark was actually # 5 on the list, it was beaten by 4 of yours.
Who said i carried nunchucks? I have 3 pair, and know how to use them very well, but I don't carry them. I believe in a fair fight.

it carries the same penalty. it sounds like you know what you're talking about.
if you use a weapon in the commission of an offense, it ups the charge, gun or stick. and if you shoot someone or beat them causing serious bodily injury, again it holds the same penalty. and since nunchucks are pretty much illegal to carry in almost every state, you're still going to get charged. however, having a concealed handgun license and legally carrying a firearm is prefectly fine.
95% of confrontations, where a gun is exhibited, end without any further escalation. some freak is not going to get close enough to me to hit me without finding out what kind of gun i'm carrying. come any closer and you're going find out how it feels to get shot.
and the whole tax thing, federal time doesn't allow for parole or pre-release supervision, that's why you see people going in for longer on federal time than state time. states can let you serve 10 years of a 15 year sentence on parole. BUT, i guess in all your infinite wisdom you already knew that.

BUT, i guess in all your infinite wisdom you already knew that. </font>
Hey I can't argue, guns are great for self-defense. However, having a gun is A LOT more responsibility than throwing a nighstick in the trunk, because you always have to worry about keeping the gun away from other people and their unskilled hands. It's just a lot of pain in the ***. Also, there are interstate issues with guns. In VA it's a breeze to get concealed permit... however, it's nearly impossible to get one in Maryland, especailly for non-resident. Forget about DC, everything is banned there. So, I'd rather have a nightstick, rather than a gun. Carrying a gun makes sense when you fear for your life for whatever reason. Otherwise a nightstick and common sense to avoid ****ty situations will suffice. Usually most people won't start a fight with you if you show willingness to fight back with your body language. All you have to do it look in the eyes to whoever is trying to start sh*t (I mean really trying, not just looking at you weird), shoulders back, chest forward, arms spread out a little, clenched fists and serious face. Assiliants usually pick the weakest targets or targets they percieve to be weaker than them. Unless they are whackos who enjoy fighting or happen to feel challenged by your agressive stance. Usually it's better to assume that stance when you really think something is going to go down, in that case it is less likely to go down. Don't walk around like that, cuz you'll be throwing out a challenge to whackos.
Basically you gotta be wise on the street. Fighting every fight will get you killed, avoiding everyone like a little scared pussy will project victim mentality to others. Balance is the key.
I've been in my fair share of street fights and got beat a few times pretty badly. Don't start what you can't finish. Better run, unless something important is at stake.
Also, it's a whole lot easier to control the amount of damage with a stick than with a gun. Because instead of assault with deadly weapon, you can be facing with manslaughter/murder charges. Even if used in self-defense, you'll be thrown in jail until your hearing, which isn't going to be too pretty.
