• my new car.....:(

*sigh*....despite my best-laid plans, i won't be getting an f-body as my next car. my mom is being a total ***** and is forcing me to drive my grandmother's '88 Lincoln Town Car :(

the only good thing about this car is that it will be free. bad things about the car:

1. grandma image
2. slow
3. slow
4. slow
5. no cd player
6. slow
7. doesn't run very well
8. slow

if it was up to my mom, i would be walking everywhere. me having a car is only a convenience to her, because then she doesn't have to drive me to school/work.

i will still be active on these boards despite my lack of an f-body, though. and i will be plotting to get one back, someday (hint: maybe this summer...)

my mom said she was going to do that when i got my first ticket, then i was talking to my grandma and the first thing my mom did was run a stop sign (speeding) hit a guy on a bike (hospital for a few months) and wraped her car around a tree,to this day she still can not get car insurance with state farm lol... so i had grandma remind her the i could have done much worse ;)

tell her you want a buick.

then buy a grand national.

tell her its just a v6, they are old, and boxy, and slow. that whistle is just the alternator.

Now thats a good idea, BUT, what if she takes and replaces the alt? Then...ahhh its the tranny.

Listen to me. I've had my V6 F-body for a couple of years now and I'm regretting it more each day. It's slow, EVERYTHING squeeks, it's slow, **** seems to break or quit working all the time, it's slow, and it still sounds like a pissed off weedeater even after changing the exhaust 8 or 9 times. It DOES look good however, and driving down a long, twisty country rpad this time of year with the T-tops out and the radio screaming is really awsome.

The good thigs about a V6 F-body:
-Looks pretty good

-Going topless on sunny days is sweet

-Gas mileage is not that bad

-Cheaper insurance than the V8

The bad:
-SLOOOOW

-Sounds ricey past 2500rpm even after a TON of different setups

-Catching **** from your friends because it's a 6-banger

-Squeeks, cheap interior, things tend to break or quit working easy on the F-bodies regardless of engine (headlight motors, window motors, etc)

Keep pimping the Town Car man. Install a CD player and give it a tuneup.

v6 f-body is not slow. It's not fast, but I cannot call it slow, especially the 5sp...

It's slow over 60mph, but it's pretty perky 0-60. I don't really care about sound, I got stock exhause anyway. It sounds nice enough for me, especially after I just got it after 4 banger. The only thing that clangs is the rearend, cuz it's leaking oil.

Just save every cent you can, for a downpayment on your dream car

Then go out and get it later. I kinda wish I got a beater, if I waited 2 months more I likely could have gotten a Mach 1
