  • Saw a really bad accident with a bike..

Mother ****in LEXUS broadsided a guy on a bike, didn't even ****in stop til it was way too late..

The lexus was parked ON TOP OF THE BIKE..

ambulance had come and gone by the time I saw it.. I just saw some teen-aged kids sitting on the curb, probably in mommy or daddy's car and not paying attention.

I can guarantee the bike rider has broken leg at least.

    Be careful out there bikers!
Nobody is watching out for you.

i wanted to throw up on the move home after graduation in june... saw a bike laying on the interstate and a guy wrapped around the guardrail like a twist-tie. it was in the westbound lane; i was eastbound and it had just happened. people were running up to the guy to see if he was still alive, i guess.

i think that cured me of feeling like i wanted a bike.

During Bike Week a few years ago I was driving to school just after a light rain. All of a sudden everyone on the interstate slammed on their brakes and stopped. I looked behind me and saw a semi truck lock up his brakes, loose control, and shoot across the median...directly into 2 bikers. Saw 1 guy go flying, and the other guy went down. I thought for sure at least one of them was dead, but I heard on the news later that there were no fatalities.

Yep. Happens all the time. I've banged on more than one car door or windshield with my helmet when some assclown has cut me off or pulled out in front of me. I know there arealot of fairly new riders on this site so I'll say this:
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND DON'T ASSUME ANYONE SEES YOU!!!!!!!! Keep the rubber side down.

Even if people see you, they just totally disregard you!

I've heard it a hundred times, people say they saw the guy on the bike and STILL pull out in front of them, cut them off, etc..

Seeing and hearing this crap makes me want a fast car instead of a fast bike more and more heh

Ahem... some bikes are air-cooled, which means they need to keep moving to keep from overheating. They cut between lanes to keep that from happening. Just give them room and don't be an a$$...

Which is why it is legal for them to go through cars like that.. I just watch my rearview mirror and move WAY the **** over when I see them.. and believe it or not, about 75% of them will wave and say thanks too.

Some people forget that even though it's all the punk kids with no good common sense about them getting the media coverage, the motorcycling community can be quite pleasant to be around. I grew up around my Dad's friends (they all rode) and know firsthand what the "real" community is like. They don't ride for the "fad" that's going around, they ride because it's relaxing and a way to spend time with friends.

It's too bad the entire motorcycling community's getting a bad rap because of kids who think a motorcycle's a new way to show off or get a piece of azz... They even saw it coming, and tried to embrace the new riders to get them to respect the ride, but unfortunately it didn't work. :(

</font>[/QUOTE]What? Legal to ride between cars like that? Why have I not ever heard this? My old bike used to overheat in heavy non moving traffic, so I used to shut it off and walk it.
