if you were drunk, stoned, and snorting ants (anyone else see the Motley Crue Behind the Music on VH1?), you'd piss on the Alamo too.

Jealous much? If you think Texas is a flamer state you've never been to California.

Lost what? The battle or the war? The Texans were outnumbered 10 to 1, and still fought despite being well aware of impending doom. Soldiers today give their lives for the country and are greatly respected for it. I don't see what is so different between then and now. Would you kill your mother if someone had a gun to your head, telling you if you do it you will live?

You know - had the mexican army skipped the Alamo, and gone around it, they could have taken over Texas?

Bwaahahaha..... that's like calling someone eating in a steakhouse a vegetarian.

I'm a regular at a cowboy bar and if anyone even let on a hint of gayness, their *** would be pounded, but not in the way they'd want.

Then again, that's up here in the great white north. Who know how those boys in Texas do things....

Texans need to get a grip, wake up, and realize this country and this planet does not revolve around them. They also need to realize that the year is 2004, not 1864. "Remember the Alamo", eh? Remember that the Texans LOST.

Wow, guys please read over your high school text books. Yes Texas lost the Alamo to Santa Ana (sp). However, his pride was his downfall when we counterattacked with a force equal and decimated the Mexicans during their siestas and laughing at Texas' forces. Even then Texas was ASKED to join the union. This is the reason for its many liberties the rest of the US does not have i.e. - flag can be flown at same height, split into five states, there are others that I admit I cannot recall but the REPUBLIC of Texas has alot others. I know all this took place a while ago but Texas has a significant history to that of many other states. IMO, Texas is a great state that the union needed at the time. I do not believe we are a flamer state so to speak. We are very firm in our heritage but in no way are "living in the year 1864". New England has its history to be proud of colonization away from the motherland. It's just our history. Texas and California are like black and white in alot of ways. This is why we are one but are different in many ways. THAT'S CULTURE my friends. It is not division rather our part in being such a melting pot of a country. If you want arrogance go to New York, if you want hospitality go southern. I am not trying to say one state is better than anothers, just tell how it is from the eyes of a Texan.

 Feel good being that ignorant? </font>
Agreed. How many other states even know what their state flags look like?? Heres it's flown everyday right next to the American flag and we are damn proud of it. Does it make Texas any less American? Hell no. No one else has the state pride of Texas, cause there are actually things and history to be proud about. Bottom line, no one invited you to Texas, so stay out. How did this become a Texas bashing thread??

Stefan would get his little Sweedish *** beat in Texas for saying that.

I think that the way the rest of the country looks at Texas is the way the rest of the world looks at the USA.

How many songs have the title "God Blessed Washington DC"?

How many other states have their own seperate power grid?

How many other states could damn near support themselves fully on their own?

How many states can fly their flag at the same level as the US flag?

Texas is the best state ever.

No .. you live in "just another state". We live in Texas and the entire state works to keep our state from being "just another state".
