Texas is the best state ever.
Thank you, you've proven the point of every other American perfectly.

Riiiiight. That's why the rest of the country hates you. You all think you're so special--bunch of damn hicks. You go, cowboy.

Get a grip on yourselves. You're not special because you were born on a pile of dirt that's labeled on a map as being different from some other pile of dirt. In fact, quite the opposite--you're morons because you think the place you were born makes you special. Do you put "proud Texan!" on your resume?

More evidence of the head-up-the-*** cocky Texan attitude. Every other state government shows RESPECT to the United States... Texas does not. They think they're better than everyone else--then they wonder why they are laughed at and spat on when they go outside their precious little hole.

Aaaargh, wake up people...

EDIT: And for the record, no, I am not bashing all Texans... just the arrogant Texans that think they're better than everyone else because they're from Texas. You fools make the rest of your state look bad.

Just so you know. There are no cowboys in texas under the age of about 40. We have alot of people who would love for ignorant people like you to call them cowboys so they can feel special. You call us morons? Every reference to texas I've ever seen has some guy in a hat sitting on a horse. Ever been here? Most people have lived their entire lives without seeing a horse, let alone sitting on one. Is the reason you have a problem with our pride because you have nothing like that in your life? You don't seem to actually be proud of anything really. Except your own misbegotten glory.

You'd like to think that we are all cowboys and hicks. Sorry, hate to break it to you. We aren't. In fact that represents a very small percentage of the state.

The rest of the country hates us because they all wish they could be a part of something so special. Go florida! woohoo! Oh wait no.. Lets go virginia!! no that doesn't sound right. Ohio maybe? Hell even my family that is from other states loves to visit Texas. Never had a craving to go visit another state.

Ignorance must be bliss, eh?

So everyone ELSE is wrong for stereotyping Texans as cowboys who chew tobacco and smoke Marlboros? Maybe its the Texans themselves that project that image. If its an incorrect image then maybe Texans should show pictures of businessmen in suits or people driving civilized cars tobacco-free instead of jacked-up trucks. Don't blame us for believing the image that your people portray.

Goes to prove my point.

That can be said for any number of things. Alaskans can say the same about the Aurora, California about the Golden Gate, New York about the Statue of Liberty, D.C. residents about the White House, list goes on and on.

And horses does not make Texas special--Texas is not the only state in the country to have horses. In fact, perhaps you're not up on your equestrian lore, but north-central Virginia is considered by many to be the finest horse country in the United States. There are more dressage stables than anywhere else in the country right up the road from me...

Pride is one thing... but the stereotype cocky Texan does not display pride. He displays arrogance to the point where he thinks he is better than everyone else. That is very different from being proud of something. I am actually very proud of living five minutes from the Nation's Capitol... but do I go on dogging people from Oklahoma or Arkansas saying they're inferior because of it?

Sure, if that makes you sleep easier at night... As stated, the rest of the country hates you because there is a large number of vocal Texans that display extreme arrogance.

But no one really hates Texas--most people don't even take Texas seriously. Texans are perceived as uneducated, uncultured, uncivilized, primitive jacked-up-truck driving Skoal-spitting hillbillies who couldn't use a knife and fork to eat dinner to save their lives and think that Merlot is a singer... why whould they be a threat worth worrying about or hating? Clowns.

So you've never even left Texas?!? How the *hell* can you go saying you're better than everyone else if you've never even been there? I'm usually not one to stereotype, but DAMN, you are proving them correct!

And also, that just goes to show how arrogant Texans are... why bother leaving and seeing the rest of the world, the planet Earth spins on an axis that goes around Houston! Yeah...

You must use Jerry Springer as a research refrence?

I have left texas don't confused never having a craving to go visit another state with never leaving this state. I've visited atleast 8 other states and 2 countries. Not many but more than enough for the moment.

Btw I live no where near houston and actually hate that city lol. YOU were the one that said everyone hates texas. I just based my response on your choice of words.

Other states may have more horses then us. I wouldn't doubt it we don't have that many. Just once again proves my point of the ignorance of other people for thinking we all ride horses to school or work (and yes I've had idiots ask me this when I visited other states). As for your stereotypical texan. There are many other states that fit that stereotype much more accuratly then the state of texas.

As to say your not one to stereotype HA. Seems to be all your doing. Also I am not proving anyone correct I am confronting your ideas about texans. Once again you just prove you ignorance by assuming I have never left this state. You however are proving my point of ignorant people breed ignorant and hateful ideas. Do what you scream at so many board patrions to do. Get a life and stop being a ****ing bigot.

Texas thinks theyre hot ****. The rest of America just allows them to keep talking b/c after all they do have #50/50 public school systems, etc. Its sort of like how the parents let the retarded kid run around and make noise till he is tired and goes to sleep. Texas is that retarded kid.

The supposed reason that the Mexican-American war happened was because of a so called border dispute. The US wanted a war and had built up forces on the border in order to provoke a response. The United States wanted all of the land to the west that Mexico had inherited from Spain and was bound to fight a war eventually.

Yes, and only people from Texas were allowed to fight... and that's why Texas kicks ***.

I actually think the show Dallas is what led to the stereotyping of Texas. Maybe that and King of the Hill. We're not all your stereotypical Texans. I think if someone is proud of their state they should be able to voice it. I'm proud to be a Texan but I'm not obnoxious about it.
