  • So, how exactly does ups work?

I got to the store locator i looked up on their website. It was pretty much a big loading dock with a little customer mailbox. There was a sign on the front of the building that said the hours for customer services, and a door right next to it that was locked. I had a huge package that wasnt going to fit in the little mailbox.

If there arent any of those fancy ups stores around where you walk in and its like the post office, how the heck do you mail something UPS. They have a customer desk in walmart, but theres a huge surcharge if you ship from there.

Regardless, i had to go ship from the post office.

Hmm, I just go to UPS.com and made an account, then you go to create shipment and you can do it all online. I've sent two packages this way without surcharges. It's great. I don't have to wait for a slow-*** minimum wage worker 'cause you just drop off the package at any UPS drop off point, which are also listed in their website. Give it a try sometime.

PS: I prefer USPS and FedEx over UPS, however! ;)

heh, the thing i went to was listed on their website as a drop off point, but it was just a little box. i talked to a guy that works for ups and he said he thinks the people just forgot to open their front door today. you had to see this place, it was pretty shady. and things in kirksville dont always get done like they do in other places.

Whoa, maybe you'd better stick with the USPS? :D

If it's breakable, don't send it USPS. I ship lots of things and I use UPS whenever possible. If it arrives broken, they've always sent me a check no questions asked. There's such potential for fraud there, but I've never taken advantage of it.

I print the labels on my computer and drop it off at The UPS Store up the street. I've never had a problem with FedEx and they're cheaper, but the FedEx dropoff point is out of my way.

USPS breaks things and the Post Office is a hassle in general.
