Probably sounds like a dumb questions, as I googled it and found what I was looking for. But I was suprised at the number of people that I know that used movers that did NOT tip at all.
I have movers coming on Saturday and hope they handle my stuff well. I figured I would tip them, but wanted to see what others would say.

No you don't tip movers. Offer them food/drinks, but there's no need to tip them. Do you tip landscapers, electricians, contractors?
Movers are paid by the hour and work full days. Buy some pizza and a few cold sodas and they'll leave happy.

as an ex mover...
some things to think about
we got a tip of $10 apiece and we were pretty happy and left saying man those were some nice people
if we did work above and beyond normal moving we got a tip (like putting together the beds and furniture)
pizza and something to drink was always great
but remember although paid by the hour, we are not the ones that get the big money for the move. We got maybe 30 to 45 a move (sometimes big ones we would get more)
seriously though if they do a really good job and seem to care, what the heck is 10 bucks to you
if they are crappy movers and dont do a good job, then dont give them anything (no food drinks or nuthin)
hope that made sense
I don't think my wife would be fond if I offered her as tip for the movers ;)
Was definately gonna do the drink and maybe pizza thing, but only after the job was close to being done. I am paying by the hour and won't pay someone to eat pizza in front of me.

Yeah, you do tip movers. I worked for a moving company a few summers back. Sure we get paid by the hour, but it's squat. I used to work my @$$ off, and it was always much appreciated to get a tip after doing a good job with people's personal stuff. I used to hate doing all the military moves (Wash. DC area) since the people didnt pay for it, they would never give us anything. Usually lunch, and a couple bucks for a drink on the way home was plenty for a tip. A couple of the big moves I did, I would get sometimes up to $50 as a tip. So definitely tip the movers a couple of bucks if they're taking care of your personal effects. Some companies just throw your stuff around, but if the movers are be courteous and careful with your hard-earned belongings then they deservce a small tip.
