  • Need DVD ripping and/or burning software

Sooo... I'm trying to burn a DVD and Nero won't burn it, says its copy protected. I can't even rip it to my HD.

Does anybody know of a program to copy a dvd to your hd, or that will burn copy protected stuff? It isn't illegal to copy, since I bought the DVD.. I don't know why Nero won't do it. Probably to prevent them being sued by the RIAA or some other idiotic, money hungry corporation.

Ummm well if its copy protected then most of the programs you could use are dead because of lawsuits, copyright infringement and the like, but some are still available such as dvd xcopy but I don't know of any that you can buy or get without using kazaa shareazza or the like.

hmmm... I just need one that has a crack out for it... I think dvd xcopy is the one my friend told me to get, but I can't remember for sure. It's just lame if I want to copy a DVD to my computer so I don't have to go to the living room and get the DVD every time. Plus I can't even test if this DVD Burner is working because I can't copy and DVDs lol

If it'll work with DVD's I'll give you CloneCD. With it you can rip CDs to an image (then burn it with Nero,) or copy straight to another CD. It's an older program so I've never had any problems with copy protection.

If you don't want to waste a DVD, I can give you DAEMON Tools which will create a virtual DVD drive to mount DVD images (that you should be able to make with CloneCD) to, just like if you put in a real one into a real drive.

          dvd shrink
by far the easiest thing I ever worked with
          download it here
          http://www.dvdshrink.org/
download a copy of Nero (the evaluation version from there site works fine)
once you download Nero DVD shrink will allow you to burn within its own software and will work great

DVD Decrypter (Shareware) - This allows one to extract content from any DVD disc to the Hard Drive
DVD Shrink (again, shareware) - Allows one to compress content to fit onto DVD+/-R media.

I got dvd x copy xpress and it works great, but I need to find a program that will allow you to copy a copy.
I'm gonna get DVD Cloner and see if I can just make an image and burn the images with nero. This crap is far too complicated because of the gayness of the MPAA.

Well this is what I ended up using:
DVD X Copy for the first copy, after that nero will actually make a copy of a copy.. nice :D

Just letting you guys know for the future.
