• How much have you spent, on, for, and where on your car? And what is it worth now?

Just browsed a little thing in another thread about people briefly talking about what did they spend on what and stuff...
http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...c;f=5;t=007939

I was wondering...

How much did your car cost when you bought it?
What did you spend on it and where... If you bought something that was appearance/maintenance/gofast list it in both categories and split cost(like your rearend went out and you upgraded to a v8 rear, its a go fast thing and a maintenance thing, or you dented your hood and got a SS hood, split it between maintenance and appearance)

-Initial car cost(description, miles, and when you bought it, how long you owned it)
-Appearance
-GO fast stuff (include suspension and such)
-Maintenance(stuff to keep it running)
-What its worth now

-Initial car cost(description, miles, and when you bought it, how long you owned it)

2000 NBM Hardtop Camaro 5-speed, mildly loaded(monsoon, power everything, except seats, no leather) 32,000 miles
Bought nov '03, for $9500 ($3700 down)
Had it for 15 months, 15,000 miles(now has 47k)

-Appearance
-Clear corners $35 shipped
-Car cleaning products(towels, polish) ~$110
-93-96 tail lights $25 shipped
-t-top conversion $300-350
-Zr1s local $200
Total: $670-720

GO fast stuff
-Zr1s local $200
-275 Kuhmo 712s $230(other half in maintenance)
-preshaved stock lid and K&N ~$25
-homemade smooth bellow $2
-hurst shifter $90 shipped
-LS1 short stick $25 shipped
-T/O LSD $125 shipped
-1LE tranny mount $15(other in maint)
-Poly tranny mount $12(other in maint)
Total: $724

-Maintenance
-275 Kuhmo 712s $230(other half in go fast)
-1le tranny $15(other in go fast)
-Poly tranny mount $12(other in go fast)
-Power steering pump $200
-Oil changes $0 (I get them free)
-Diff lube $15
-Synthetic Tranny fluid $20
-Synthetic clutch fluid $6
Total $498

KBB now...
Private party value $9,780 (t-top conversion oWNZ j00)
Trade in $8,100

Granted KBB isn't the most accurate but its something.

$9500
$670-720
$724
$498
----------
Total: $11,392-11,432

I did get reliable transportation that I enjoyed for 15,000 miles.

But :( could of had a v8.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=342974

And I like silver

Lighter note, I pieced together a nitrous kit for ~$350, and I am parting it out on Ebay, and so far sold it for ~$540, stuff is still selling.

First off, KBB is the MOST accurate source not only do the dealers use it, but private party does too. Just an FYI, and if you don't use kbb when buying a car, you are probably going to be horribly upside down.

I bought my 2001 Firebird GT intially for 13k with 7300 miles on the clock. I just turned 30k this week.

It's a non-T top automatic Firebird GT. With SLP upgrades such as suspension, rims, graphics, ect. This car is #49 of 2000 made in the year 2001.

The only money i've put into it was 60 bucks for a k&n air filter and continual costs of mobil 1 oil. I did the free air mods which costs.. 2 bucks from home depot for a small piece of PVC pipe. That's about it.

For this, I went a best of 15.2 in the 1/4.

shenanigans :

Quick question, where did u get ur T-Top conversion, my bird isnt a T-Top but the roof inside the car is molded for it (I guess thats a dur) lol. I didnt know a conversion was so cheap.

Curious also to how u got a LSD for so cheap.

Anyways, my mods:

Dremeled stock air box and added K&N Filter: $30
Smooth Bellow (Home Depot style): $2 - $5 (doing it today)
High Flow Cat: $60 shipped (ebay and not in yet)
SLP Shift knob: $45 shipped
Removed MAF Screen: Free

I plan on SLP LM System in a few weeks, and shortly after a GT2 Camshaft upgrade.
2000 3800 II V6 Firebird<br />various small mods, bigger stuff later.

Peiced it together from parts on ebay and on message boards. Do a search in appearance, and check out here for more info(Link for other people that converted in this link too).

When I heard SLP ran out, I called up 3 different distributors and Texas speed had 1 or 2 left over and picked one up since I know the next thing is searching junkyards, or spending like $400.

But there aren't anymore "new" takeoff LSDs anywhere, they used to be $99=Shipping but they are all sold out and since they stopped making the f-body no more will be coming out.

My car is probably worth like 5k private party. I don't even want to add up all the damn money in that car, because it will be close to 5k, not even including maintenance.

The guy who had it before me only drove it 2100 miles in 26 months. That kinda made it freak out and the front rotors warped the 1st time i had to hard stop. So i gotta fix those. Also the convertible top switch stopped working so i have to raise/lower it by hand and the cigarette lighter stopped working too, those are covered under my warranty i jsut havent had time to take it in.
