i have been looking at some z28's and some have black tops and some dont, my friend thought they all do, but they dont. was it just an option, or is there some special condition that merits the black or color matched top?

Now its an option there are black topped z28s WITHOUT t-tops.... A local guy has a '02 SOM one and a friend of mine used to have a '98 red one(he sold it and got a all black '01)

i think the t-tops get the body color, not the black, because my friend's has a black top without t-tops (94) and i'm looking at a 95 that has t-tops and it is a body colored topComment

They definitely come with black top and t-tops as well...
as far as I know black top is just an option... like a "two tone" thing. On all cars, hardtop or t-top. ive never seen a black top fb/ta other than black ones, or the 02 collectors yellow one.

I cant remember the exact year, but I think the 93 to 94or95 all had black hardtops. I cant remember where I read that though. Maybe not all of them, but yeah, its something like that.
