It was very unexpected. I am completely numb and my emotions are too many to describe. I guess this is my way of grieving so please bear with me.
I was very close to my Dad and I worked with him at his family practice as a medical assistant for 4 years. He and I routinely went to hockey games together and you could always find us on many weekends playing golf together spending quality father/son time.
He did have 2 stents put in his heart about 2 years ago but since then, he has felt fine and actually stated he felt like a new man. We think he may have died from a pulmonary embolism or an anureysm.
He died as he always said he would like to leave this world: in his sleep, at his home, in his bed, beside his loving wife.
I know none of you have ever had the pleasure of meeting him, but if you had, you would understand how much of a carring soul he was.
He lived a full life, just not long enough at 61 years old.
He was loving father, devoted husband, and a happy grandpa.
He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and patients.
I will miss you dad.
Your loving son
