ive got a bel vector 995. picked it up on ebay for 220$. its the 2nd best bel they offer. i suggest whatever route you go, try to get one with upgradeable software and POP protection. you can direct wire this detector too. here in VA, radar detectors are illegal, and that bad boy is invisible to radar detector detectors. heres some food for thought too... my friend has a valentine 1 and we ran both detectors at the same time in the same car, and the bel was actually more sensitive and predictable than the valentine 1.
See, thats not a reliable way to test at all because one detector can interfere with the other. Whenever I caravan with my friend, our detectors set each others off all the time.
