  • Northeast-ish area party cities?

My friends and I were thinking of heading to Montreal again, but my last couple of trips there were fun, but extremley frustrating. People are rude as hell up there and they screw you over on the exchange rate every chance they get. Of course we knew better and changed our money in for Canadian cash, but then we had people demanding tips before service. Full of *** hats... Anyway...

Im tired of the crap around here so now were thinking of a sort of local U.S. city to hit up instead. Any ideas of a city with a good night life? Like, I can walk down the strip and choose from a crapload of bars and clubs? How about philly? We've done Boston, and im not a fan of headin to NYC. So Philly people chime in. How about Pittsburgh, is Pittsburgh any good? I don't want to travel more than 6 hours, so thats saying I wouldn't go past PA if we were to head South. Also im not limiting cities to PA either, just its all that pops in my head.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks. :)

damnit, i can't remember where it is, but i saw a true life where this guy was partying up somewhere in the northeast. I'll try to find out where it was, cause it was the type of city where him and a bunch of buddies rented a house for the week to stay at, then just went up and down the strip to a bunch of different clubs and such.

Portland, ME has a section called "The Old Port". Lots of bars/clubs within crawling distance. Used to hang out there all the time. Go during the summer, it's right by the beach.

NYC is great, you just have to know the "hot" section because it changes. I haven't been partying in NYC for a while, but maybe a local can chime in.

Boston just outside the fleet center is usually pretty good too. If you can get a hotel for Boston July 4th weekend - that's a city wide party.

RI has some awesome gentelmen's clubs. :naughty: Great for a weekend trip.

Second on Old Port, though I haven't been drinking there since I was 19 ;)

Pittsburgh is pretty good on the right nights, used to go down to the Strip District and hang out there.

Smaller towns with drinking colleges have been fun - Burlington, VT (UVM),Durham NH (UNH), and Allentown (Lehigh) come to mind.

Places like Potsdam and Canton hell even Watertown have good bars. Quite a drive for you though.

I've been to Boston a few times and had a BLAST! College girls, Sam Adams Beer, and partying at Aerosmith's place, "Mamma Kin's". I've lost quite-a-few brain cells there, but enjoyed every minute of it!
                A few other Boston sites:

Philly is okay. There are a few hot spots here, but they come and go kinda fast.

I've done Boston a few times. Actually, my g/f goes to college at Northeastern so I've got a place to stay. ;) We just want to be different. I may just end up doing the college tour again as someone suggested. I was also thinking about Burlington, VT. I guess Philly isn't worth it then? I never been so I dunno. Maine is a little bit too much of a trip. I dunno, we could prob do 5 hours...

And 4thgenowner... what the hell were you doing way the hell up there??! That's major back country out there, haha. My ex's family was from that neck of the woods.

If you are going to drink around there, better to go into Portsmouth in my opinion.

Another good drinking town, Amherst, MA. The girls from Mt Holyoke come over for the guys. :naughty: I just remembered being single was.
