Dave Ramsey? I'm curious if any young people listen and "get it" when it comes to what he talks about. If you have not heard of him.. well.. go to his website.
The short of it, is he's a guy that talks about how to get out of debt and stay out. Talks like a normal guy and uses normal principles.
I forgot to add.. you can find him on iTunes as a podcast to hear him. Just do a search.
I've never heard of him but I will definatly check him out. As a college student and someone who is trying to built a good credit history, I'm always open to new tricks and tips.
I used to listen to him almost every day at my old job, (ahh the old days of working for the state) now that I work in public accounting I really don't have the time.
I have also read my total money makeover and gave a copy of it to my parents for christmas. What he says really opened my eyes. It hasn't been quite a year yet but I have paid off over $10k proably closer to $12 in old school debt. I know alot of what he talks about is people with credit card problems and just financing things you can't afford, I have never really had that much of a problem there. Either way it's a smart way to live and it makes alot of sense, if more people listened and followed just half of what he said they wouldn't have money problems

Newer heard of him, have to check it out.
I'm young. I’ve newer been in debt (in bad debt) im using my cc just to get something over internet or for booking purposes. I use to listen to Robert Kyosaki, he opened my eyes..
Btw , I'm supporting my family too.
All debt is bad :) But then again.. I don't have a FICO score for this reason. You have to listen to him to understand what I'm talking about, but I'm by no means rich.. yet ;)

I've managed to stay out of debt so far except for the car payments. My next car will more than likely be bought in cash though. I've had a credit card for a year now with a $700 limit so I can develop some good credit and not be worried about not being able to make a payment. Sounds like you guys are saying he talks about more than just getting out of debt though, will have to check it out sometime.
as far as I know there is 2 debts good and bad
bad is when you borrow money when you need them (sounds logical , but big nono)
good is when you borrow money when you dont need them :) (thats the way I like)

Well... this is a different kind of thinking iGoRa. Give him a listen... or even look through his book while at a book store. I was turned onto him about 3 months ago... and not only do I enjoy listening to him... cause he's a funny guy, but he has morals and scrupals.
