I'm sorry about your situation. I don't know all the details, and you don't either. Most likely she is keeping something from you, which most likely makes her feel guilty, or she is afraid to tell you. She threw the it's not you its me line at you which we all know is b.s. I would give her the space she wanted, and while you two are just friends, I would not get involved "romantically involved" with her (i'm assuming you were when you were together). If she asks what the problem is, let her know that you care, and that those actions are actions of your love, and affection. (i'm not trying to tell her that you no longer feel for her, but you want to be able to express those feelings with someone that feels that for you in return) I know you stated that she told you that she still loves you, but I'm sorry. Who loves someone and tells them that they want space? Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but imho if there was a problem with you being a "controlling" person, it must not have been to controlling, or she would have not stayed with you for 19 months. I know little about you, if anything, and from what I have read in your posts you seem like a genuine person.

Take some time for yourself, and try to enjoy some of the things in life maybe you haven't noticed before. The weather is getting nicer outside, maybe take a drive to a location where you can park the car, and walk with nature. It can help to clear your head. Breathe in the clean air, and you know, just relax your mind. The hurt won't go away instantly, and these things take time. Hanging out with some friends can definately take your mind off of this.

I remember when I had a situation like yours. I found out it was another man. The only thing that helped me was turning my marshall up, and playing my guitar until I couldn't feel my fingers.

Dude, sorry to hear about this. We all have (or will have) been there. Hurts like hell for a while, but then life goes on. You guys are young. My interpretation is that she wants to live a little. By the time you offer to change, it's too late. No need to act like a married couple at 17. There are plenty of those years ahead.

Do not contact her. It will only keep the wounds open longer. Go, live your life. Have FUN while you still can! Eventually you will find someone who accepts you without having to change.
