it seems to me that, the more i put into my car, the more accidents i must avoid, or the more people feel its thier need to be traffic police, sunday, i had a NEW f350taking a shortcut through a parking lot off the highway, he pulls into the road in front of me, and i lock up the brakes into his left front wheel, pushing the bumper in a 1/4", chipping lots of paint, and cracked the bumper a bit, i pull into the parking lot he came from, get out to look at my car, and get his insurance info, and he takes off. no plates, had a yellow paper in the window, but couldnt see it, called the cops and they havent got anything yet. so im out 114 bucks for a bumper off a red 1990 formula. then avioded 2 more accidents within 20 minutes one, a woman i front if me trying to turn into a parking lot , standing on the brakes with out using the shoulder, still in the right lane, in heavy 55 mph traffic, then 2 arabs run a red light and almost T bone me. and a few hours ago, some guy felt it was nessesary to suddenly block my lane and tell me to slow down, im in a school zone(its 9:00pm) when im doing 20 in a 25, but then agian, i have a loud exhaust, so loud= fast, im about to sell my car and cut up my license and use the shoe leather express!!!!!

I've been hit 4 times in 2 years. I don't have very good luck either.

my advice learn to be a better driver, i was always told never worry about your own driving but the other drivers on the road. how did u not see a big *** truck cut across and onto the road and not notice until u pretty much hit him? anyway lol, maybe u should concider slowing down. also my opinion all drivers besides mine and my dads are idiots no offense to the rare ones that could be reading this that have never been in an accident like myself but avoided about 20 other ones. also they say women are better drivers....pff almost ever accident that i avoided was because a female pulled out in front of me then all they do is look at u screaming not knowing how to act in an emergency situation. bah, now that i bought this nice car though i been paying more attention then ever though just incase ;-)

It seems like my nice car is an idiot driver magnet. I don't notice them so much in my daily driver.

I have to agree with this. I commute with thousands of crappy NYC drivers every day. I am up on the wheel watching and predicting what everyone else does. I have had SO many near missed, but luckily I was paying attention and made the right moves.

Staying one step ahead of everyone else is what separates good drivers from bad drivers. And no, I am not doing the speed limit with both hands clutching the wheel. My driving style is true to my name, plus I always have the XM cranked. :dj:

You think its bad in a car? Try to drive a motorcycle. When I'm on my bike, everyone thinks its fine to pull RIGHT out infront of you, because of course, a bike stops on a dime. I'm already in the lane, but what the hell...lets share it. People riding my *** just for something to do. Basically when your on a bike, your invisible, so you have to drive as such. All it took was one trip on a motorcycle to learn how to drive in a car. Even that fails, when a illegal mexican with no drivers license pulls out infront of me 6 feet away. LT1 brakes suck, and don't go 45-0 in 0.05 seconds, sadly. Now my baby was totaled thanks to her not doing as simple of an action as LOOKING to see if a car was coming. Take m advice, everyone is out to kill you. Once you realize that, you'll be much safer.

And I agree whole heartedly with you. I was on a motorycle on public streets (legally) when I was 15. I learned quickly how stupid people drive. I also learned how to keep a constant state of awareness. I was damn near run over many times on my bike. People just dont see you b/c they simply aren't looking for you and they'll come right over in your lane and you're forced to either drop it down 2 gears and get out of the way or get in the turn lane.

Anyway, i'm accident free. And btw, it sounds to me like you aren't a very good driver. People fail to use the shoulder of the road all the time when making a right turn, I dont see how you werent ready for that.

People get an ear full of deep *** exhaust if they make a stupid move near/around me and it almost causes me to be in an accident. I've worked to damn hard for this car for some idiot to **** it up.

I always look for bikers on the road, one because i know most people don't and two, because I like the way the look/sound and like being able to give riders thumbs up.

i would have seen him if it wasnt for the bus stop that was block the view for the most part, i was going about 30 in a 35 when he pulled out about 20ft in front of me, i slammed my brakes(no abs) instead of veering into the oncoming traffic, but yea, i certainlay noticed a big freakin white thing once it was past the bus stop and in the road :(

yea, i should have been ready, but a new honda civic stops a bit faster than my 86 bird when its a who can stop faster contest,im sure many of us have had those..., but in my area, one fender bender like that is nothing, in the last week, i saw a new bmw and a lincoln towncar on thier roofs at the same corner, i live right near a popular jersey beach, its crazy when it gets warm, they're all out there

Fortunately there aren't very many cars that can out brake me. I had some guy in a minivan that was being an ******* trying to run me off the road try to out brake me. Needless to say I was stopped about 50' before he was.

i had a audi a4 do that to me, he would block me and slam on his brakes,he was watching the rearview instead of the road, so im inthe left lane, i jerk the wheel real quick towards the divider AND THE IDIOT TURNS TO BLOCK AND HITS THE DIVIDER...a side mirror and lots of other crap went flying....then there was a red light, i thought "oh god, this guy is gonna murder me" instead he ran the red light...i hope he chokes...

Shoulders are for pulling over, not to use as turning lanes. You should not expect people to use the shoulder to turn because they are not suppose to.

No, i know what he means. Around me, there are a few big roads that are like 4-5 lanes each way and then have a median. The speed is usually like 55 and there are extra lanes that people are supposed to use to turn in. So basically, she didnt get into the turning lane (shoulder) and slowed down.

I know what you mean tho. EVERY time i put something new in my car, i wind up with a near miss (or a hit in one case). Its like a curse. Like a few months ago: i get speakers for christmas, so i go driving and some truck pulled out in the middle of the road and stopped dead about 20 feet down road of a jeep that was doing the same thing but actually got into the center lane. I saw the guy and BARELY swerved into the parking lot where he was pulling out from. And then another dumbass started yelling at me how i'm gonna kill someone. I'm sorry, but i think there should be a dumbass test for when you get your license. And foreigners shouldnt be allowed licenses at ALL. I'm sick of them. they're an accident waiting to happen. The indians that live across teh street from me backed into my moms big ol e-150 VAN TWICE!!!! and the same thing happened to my best friend: arabs across the street have backed into his truck over 4 times now. Its not like they admit responsibility either. they make excuses how you're supposed to not park in front of YOUR OWN HOUSE because thats where they back out at. I cringe when i think of these people going 65 mph on the highway. And you can substitute old people in for foreigners in all that too. Some people just arent meant to drive.

Turning lanes and shoulders are two differnet things. Obviously, turning lanes should be used when present.

People who don't use turning lanes piss me off.
