Gm FTL

So I've started looking for a second car (or truck), as we are planning to buy a new car by the end of the year. I have to honestly say, that GM is really dissappointing me. The ONLY car that I would consider buying from them is a used CTS-V.

I love the GTO, but GM in their infinate wisdom decided to go back 20 years, and not allow for rear fold down seats. So that makes it instantly out of the question.

What's GM have to offer?

GTO, sweet but needs folding seats for me to buy it.
Grand Prix, decent power, but just looks so bland.
Impala/Monte Carlo SS. Nice power, but its FWD so I can't imagine how bad the tq steer is, and again it just looks so bland.
G6, It's alright but there are several other cars in its price range that I would buy first.

Chrystler on the other hand, has one killer line up. The new Dodge Caliber looks pretty sweet, and I think the SRT-4 version is supposed to be faster then the current SRT-4. The Charger SRT-8 is :drool: and the 300C isn't that bad either. The sad part is that I used to hate chryslers.

GM needs to sh*t can the monkeys they have working in their design team or they're gonna go under.

prolly 3 bodies...seriously though I can fit 2 of my HUGE suitcases in it with no troubles and then put a smaller bag or two on the sides, the trunk is enormous....but in all honesty I was looking at the benzo CLK500, just always had lots of troubles with benz in the past and it was way more expensive....have you considered an acura??? I love the TL.

i can understand what you mean. if there was no conformation that another camaro was going to be built, or they canceled the gto i would definitlely start looking at german cars. i personally like aud's alot esecially the s4 and then new tt's coming out plus if u get a s4 you'd have a sporty sedan which is preatty fast for a sedan with great interrior and and awd in case you'd have to worry about snow. really all german manufacturers seems to be doing the right thing, the only problem is the price $$$.

I haven't looked into them yet, but they're on my list. Although it's kinda lower on what kind of power I'd like to have. And I'd prefer RWD or AWD.

the benzo is RWD, but unless you get the AMG you wont get the power your looking for, My V beats the AMg I think, and for alot less....I really love my car, mods for it are damn expensive though, people have been picking up 04's even some 05's for low low 30's maybee mid 30's if you get a deal on an 05' .....I just keep telling myself that 400hp is very practical, I mean I keep telling meself that a 4door with a big trunk is practical....but eh, srt charger??? it'll whip the V in a straight line at least dunno about the twisties, same as the 300c but they're auto's, well the 300 is, dunno about the charger.

edit: if your looking for a truck...dont hit me now, H3??? Ive seen those little suckers with 20's and offroad/onroad tires, and they look pretty damn hot.

The car has to be able to fit a 5ft long flat case, 2 1ft tall by 3ft wide cases, a 50lb battery pack that is 1ft wide by 2.5ft tall, 2 tripod bags, and 2 other misc odd shaped bags. It all fits in the stang so I know it will fit in most everything as long as the seats fold down.

heck, just go test some cars you like out by trying to put all your stuff in there then go drive it to make sure it has enough power :p

180lbs of equipment.... I hate loading it in and out of the car on a daily basis let alone doing it all day.

The new Dodge Caliber looks pretty sweet, and I think the SRT-4 version is supposed to be faster then the current SRT-4.

300HP. The FWD version has bad torque steer. There is a write-up in this months car and driver. Nice looking car though.

well, since you only got 180lbs if equipment your good, 250lbs or more in the trunk of the V and it springs a check engine light :p dont ask me why, Im guessing it has something to do with the load leveling rear.:cool:

Actually I think the H3's look damn good. I forgot about those, but I don't really want an SUV. It's either gonna be a truck or a car.

BTW, this car probably isn't going to be modded. It's purpose is going to be for my wifes work/family car. Hence why I want more power in stock form.

Either the stang, or some other car will be my project car.
