air compressor

I see an air compresser for sale at PEP Boyz its $120. Its a 10gal, 3.25 PEAK hp, 2 run hp compressor pump, max of 125psi.

Anyone know where I can get a better compressor from?
I guess I could find a better one at a pawn shop, but it'll be used.

I just need it for die grinding, but mostly for using an air wrench to redo a head gasket swap. thanks

You need to match the SCFM of the compressor to the requirements of the tool. Neither of which you stated.

my tools operate at no more than 90 psi
what is S cfm? S/cubic foot per minute?

My 60 gal compressor was worth every cent. Everyone I know that opts for the smaller version regrets it.

i got one at home depot for $300, 60 (i think) gal compressor, and a whole bunch of tools.

You want cheap? Try harbor freight.
Pep boys is about the last place I'd go looking for one, unless you get some kind of discount.

A Zillion times correct! I also bought a 6.5hp 60 gallon compressor and it'll run any air tool on the market. I bought mine used for $200 from an auto shop who was closing.

Save your money and go with the largest you can afford. Smaller compressors are good for a little while, but you'll regret it when your tools are losing power due to lack of pressure.

My 25 Gal craftmans works fine. The only tool it cannot keep up with is the die grinder. No regrets here.

Craftsman here, 30 gal (iirc) upright w/wheels and operates all my tools.

well, I already looked at harbor freight and found some really small ones that were cheap, then I found some really big ones that were expensive!
The pep boys one is a better deal than harbor freights.

is "peak" the maximum
and "run" is the average hp rating of the compressor pump?
