Re: I sooooo want one of these

most larger cities also encode their frequencies for traffic preemption (the little flashing light that makes the light turn green) and i believe it doesnt make the light turn green, it is supposed to make it flash yellow or something, but most have encoded systems now, and it does not have to be an IR device, it can be a raw strobe light, any light at that freqency that the eye sees will trigger it. but most systems have encoded for reasons such as this. but i'm just telling you guys, it is not something you want to **** with.

Sometime late at night if no ones really on the road and you flash your high beams ahead of time I find that it sometimes work before you get to the light. Because it acts as if you have stobes. Who knows if it really works but seems like it does sometimes.

nope, high beams wont trigger that, but it may sense that you are coming and if nobody has gone through the intersection it will change ahead of time. there is no physical way possible for you to flash your lights at the frequency that is required to activate. now this on the other hand http://strobeguy.safeshopper.com/55/1979.htm?834 should trigger as long as the systems arent encrypted as some are http://www.themirt.com/ this one has the invisible infared lense for stealth vehicles. it is just something you dont want to **** with though, they are intended for emergency vehicles ONLY in the wrong hands they can pose a huge threat to the general public, civilians just have no respect for anybody else, it is always about them, there are other people on the road, just deal with it.

i am not going to argue with this thread any more because i am going to end up getting ****ing pissed off, just wait the few seconds like everybody else, people like this are using a helpful tool for personal gain that wont get them anything but in trouble and end up getting somebody killed.

Unless you are one of the people that do 55 mph on the dot, then I don't want to hear it bud. :D :p Going 5 over the speedlimit can also totaly apply to what you just said, and can be considered more "dangerous" then turning a traffic light green. 5 over is extremley illegal. ;)

Yea, I agree. I'd just make sure I left a bit earlier and saved the cash. But you do realize its more than a few seconds though right? It depends on the complexity of the intersection. My drive to school was horrible. There was 10 intersections. If you hit one redlight, you usually hit them all. I timed 3 of them at 3 minutes a rotation. Thats 9 minutes right there. Now throw in traffic and realize sometimes it takes 2 rotations before you hit the light.

a friend of mine was told by a family friend who's a cop, he said even flashing your highbeams at some lights work, he said he tried it at a few and he said it worked or it was just coincidence, i havent tired it yet
