Since I have gotten this car in late July of last year, me and Shane (Nachius) have both known that the head gasket was blown, due to the large amounts of water in the oil pan. After tinkering with the car for the last few months, on and off when it wasn't cold out, I finally have the parts stripped off that needed to be off in order to do the rebuild on the top end.I got some pics of the progress so far, as well as two pics that show the pushrods and lifters, one with 120xxx miles on them in a blown engine, and one with fairly new lifters and pushrods. You can see the difference. Also, because I was too impatient when I worked on the car last summer, you can see the drivers side CC's are a little rusty, compared to the passenger side, which was taken off no more than an hour ago. Because I am not too concerned about the engine that is in the car, I have an idea of "wet sanding" the driver side CC's with an extremely fine grit sandpaper and a lot of PB blaster, to get the surface rust off those CC's. Once I get all the parts I need, I will start the rebuild. So far I have new(er) pushrods and lifters, an AC delete bracket, some reusable rocker arm bolts, and a few other misc things.
Just want to keep everyone interested up to date on my progress.....:burn:
