Anyone else here into RC planes/helos?

I've currently got a Parkzone Typhoon. Copperhead Extra Stiffy on the way, with maybe even a couple more in the next week or two.

The Typhoon's not really the best for 3D, but it gets the job done: vid (23 MB).

Surely someone else here is into RC?

    Re: RC Pilot?

Rc airplanes was my life through Highschool... started when i was like 10 with gliders.... 2 channel, rudder elevator, Highstart... first plane was a Goldberg Sophisticated Lady. Max flight 10 minutes.... My best glider was a 14 foot Nostalgic class glider.. mechanical mix setup (old school)... uses a winch... have logged a 2.5 hour flight, I had to bring it down cause i was tired of looking up... could have gone real long..

all that before i was 13.

I got into Gas powered stuff when i was in 7th grade... took about 3 weeks to solo and start out with my fist non trainer plane... a Goldberg Super chipmunk... Also have a Goldberg Extra 300, Goldberg Staudacher GS300, A Piper cub that was given to me, has cloth doped wings and body, flew it twice then have it hanging since it was bout 30 years old and didnt want to risk anything..

I hadnt flown much sine I was about 16 or so, but just bought a new plane a few months ago to start to get back into it... i cant remember its name, but its basically a boxed fuselage, and a big fat wing...

hahaha you got a stiffy on the way. sorry i see humor in that statement. i have flown for many years starting when i was 6. i am not even going to try to remember all the planes i have had, but my current inventory is a gas powered big stix. a micro whiz and another electric i cant remember the name to right now.

good luck with the 3D flyin though it looks challenging. i myself am into low and slow flight or take the stick out and speed it around. maype with the micro whiz ill try a little 3D flyin and just hope it is strong enough to take a few hard landings or crashes.

Can anyone fly a RC helicopter? Them things are tough. Definitley takes some crazy hand-eye coordination. Hovering is a *****. It's even a PITA in a real helicopter too! (When its just a little two seater anyway)

and as for heilcopters i wont even do that. tried it when i was about 13 got it about 2 foot off the ground and stayed there for what seemed like an eternity.( about 3 seconds) after that i didnt like the fact that if i got jumpy on the controls or forget my orientation i could fly itinto my legs.
