I had the iPhoto icons on my mini with a few custom screens for other things. It's kinda fun to have "different" stuff :)

whats a good light weight MP3 player? I don't need more than a few gigs and after using a friends ipod I came to the conclusion that they made the damn things out of lead. I want somethign light weight. I am thinking of going on ebay and getting another rio nitrus for about $60.

You can get the newer Nano which are flash based and tiny! (too small for my clumsy hands). If you check Apples refurb site (apple store, down the right side to the red tag, then scroll down) you can get a 2GB nano color for like 150. same price as the 1GB nano new.

Let me get this right.... you live in FL with THAT car and your cheap? Every iPod i've owned has been from the refurb site. The first one just got a new battery and is being used by a friends sister still.... that was one of the original pods. 5GB brick thing ;)

Did I mention you can download CZ28 podcasts and laugh your *** off at them :D

Or you can get a better flash player with better features for less money. Apple sells the "iPod" trademark for a premium price. In particular, their flash players aren't worth it except if you simply must have a "jenuwine iPod".

There are many better flash players. My favorite is the iAudio G3. 40 hours+ on an ordinary AA. No proprietary rechargeable battery that is designed to be nonreplaceable and plays all of 14 hours. Compatible with more audio formats. FM radio. Drag and drop music files or data files (it's very easy to use as a flash drive, also). Etc. $130 brand new from Newegg.

Eh.... to each there own... I've been a Mac guy for a long time..... I just have an opinion that iPod (even if it is a brand) is better. Had MS come out with it... I would have bought it. Better engineering also comes at a price... look at the Vette ;)

who need a pod when you can have the mothership? Portable XM sat radio here, you should check out the new portable - the Pioneer Inno and the Samsung Helix. Live sat radio and 50 hour recording time, your stuff or theirs. O&A Party Rock!!!!!!!!!!!

But the Nano is not better engineering. :D As I've detailed with facts, not just unsupported opinion, its' function is inferior. The idiotic battery thing is illustrative. The battery is _soldered_ in. Why would anyone do that? Oh.

Wow, _that's_ engineering. They also engineered a screen that scratched worse than other players.

You, and a lot of people, for no solid reasons. It's just an image thing. Ooooh, it's an iPOD. :D I'll say this. Apple's advertising/PR is very effective. They sell tons of them based solely on that.

Again.. this is all about opinions. You buy your product that you feel is best, I'll buy what I feel is best.

And for the record, I have a Mini... the battery is changable. :p
