Well, i gave blood today at my school blood drive, i was suprised at how many people actually did it. but there were some people that i would never want blood from, like drug addicts, idk how they ever let them do it. but w/e hopefully they just throw the blood away later from them when they see they have aids/syphalis/every std in the book/west nile virus...
well anyways i thought i would poll if you have given blood
yah ive done it like 3x i think. the red cross called me alot b4 cuz i am O+ which is the universal doner for like every1 except O-. plus i dont drink or smoke, my sisters a nurse and ive never felt the need to.
id give more but i always feel super tired for a couple of days. although it only takes a day to replenish the blood, but you lose other stuff like minerals i think. plus the drained arm looks way skinnier, at least to me.

They cannot discrimate blood when given because this could reveal a person's medical condition. On the form to give blood, there is a box to check that says "don't use this blood". Consider the case where someone has some disease like AIDS, but his friends drag him to give blood. To help conceal his condition, he can check that box then join in the blood donation process.
The blood is tested before it is used.
They do blood drives here at work all of the time, but it is always in the mornings. I don't eat breakfast which means I would pass out.
I used to give blood all the time, the company i was working for had blood drives all the time, and if you donated blood , they gave you the day off, full 8 hrs pay, which is really cool.
I havent really seen all that many places to give blood, i dont have an urge to, but im not opposed to it, it saves lives.
im only 15, so i cant. but if i could i would. we just had one at school the other day.

I remember in the early 90's (when AIDS was a big scare) how my dad, bro., sister and me gave blood for my mother who was going to go through a major surgery. We were all type O- . But what bothered me was that we had to pay $250 just to donate our blood and for her to use just in case she might need it.
Well we paid because our blood was mainly for her but to be charged so much was insane. My dad was only a low paid janitor back then and that was a lot of money for us.
you meet with a person to talk about your form first, tests your blood for lead and all. They always go over my form when i give. Im pretty sure if they read you had AIDS, they wouldnt let you anywhere close to the needles. Atleast i would hope so. That is an unnecessary risk to take, just to make someone happy, for blood you cant even use in the first place. I hope if you had AIDS and knew it, u would have more sense than that to try and give blood. However, they do test all the blood before it is used like said above in another post.

but i'm doing what i can to help people. i'm growing my hair for lock for love. which is you grow your hair and have to cut like 8-12 min off and donate it for people to make wig for people with cancer.
