Re: "what a honda feels like"

Okay- to be fair, the NSX and RSX are Acura here in the states. Honda wanted to market them on a higher scale, so they did. But you're right. The ridgeline is a man's truck (with it's v6). The Fit is quite full of soul. I just saw that commercial. The S2000, for starting at over $34,000 has 162 lbs of torque, which they say, "...making it the most exhilarating sports car Honda has ever built." I will admit- the new Civic SI is okay looking. But the whole front-wheel drive, four cylinder sports car is not what I would ever buy. So, yes. To me Honda is soulless. I would take a Nissan over a Honda any day of the week

I will add quickly that comparing our cars to almost anything modern (05 or 06, soon to be 07) we are gonna loose out, hell I spent the last 11 weeks out of town driving different rentals, one i had several weeks was a Hyundai Sonata v6 that car handled, out rode and drove my bird, and yes that's even in a straight line. In the end the point I am trying to make is not that our firebirds suck but comparing our cars to modern ones we loose

i love just about everything about F bodies and how they handle, and performance.
But i will admit i really like the civic Si's. . . The seats are so comfortable haha. its only got like 160-170HP which is not alot but its decent for a commuter/daily driver. I mean if i had to commute to work i would definatly consider that car or one of the new toyotas.

Re: "what a honda feels like"

im not a fan of the new civics... especially the SI's, you would think a brand new VTEC engine would be able to walk on a base model camaro from 6 years prior, but the times are too close (SI - 15.1, my car - 15.2). the other thing i really dont like about honda engines are that the peak torque is made at like 6-7k RPM, which you never really hit unless youre running the gears, meaning you must downshift 2 or 3 gears to get the power necessary to simply pass someone. maybe im just crazy, but a redline of 8500 RPMs just doesnt sound like a fun car to me. that or i hang out with too many people that own f-bodies and im just biased to cars with actual power...

Some of us just like cars, period. I wonder how many here would turn down an even up trade for an RSX Type S that runs 14 second quarters, runs rings around our cars on a twisty road, and gets better gas mileage?

If they had a convert, I'd be there.
