I typically keep my FB in storage except for the occasional joy ride on back roads. My wife landed a new job with a long commute, so I am letting her drive the bimmer (25 - 30 MPG)

Anyway, three things really jumped out at me:

    1. Man, that car is fun to drive. :D
    2. The shifter shakes a lot (compared to the bimmer).
    3. The rear end "chatter" or "sway" over bumps is much worse then I remember. Going through a rough patch of road was scary at 60. I typically drive that section at 70 in the bimmer w/o a worry.

It sure sticks out in the parking lot here at work (bimmers, audis, vws, etc). :D

Man, I forgot how much I loved driving her. I will enjoy commuting with her this summer.

Do you have aftermarket exhaust? Because mine chatters quite a bit on rough patch roads. But when I had the stock it didn't.

Yeah mine sticks out too at work and gets more attention than Jaguars, Audi, Mercedes, and BMW's that I park next too. It's faster than most of them too.

I hear you on the rough roads being scarey. The few times that I drove my bird through Baltimore I thought it was going to break the car in half. Having a clean Firebird that costs about 8 times less than other cars in a parking lot, but still getting more looks and attention then them... priceless.

I do have an aftermarket exhaust, but this is in the suspension. Hit a bump going straight and the rear end feels like it wants to jump out. I just forgot how bad it really was.

The most popular color for cars today is silver. At work, all the bimmers, audis, etc are silver, black and that s*** brown. The FB really sticks out being bright RED. She turns some heads when I pull in.

I am not sure if my FB could beat my bimmer (225 hp). Maybe after my engine rebuild. :D

It's called a solid axle. You're just probably not used to driving it but it's normal.

I know it's normal. I was suprised of the significance after not driving the car for a while. :burn:
