ok her is the play. its 1:00am and i just got off work. i am driving home. i am at a 2 way stop there is a 5-0 hiding in this parking lot. i go my tires squeek a little bit. i go and then i see these head lights coming up on me fast!. so i turn to go to my house and i am at my apartment when he flys around the corner and lights on. he kept asking if i had been doing any drinken tonight. any ways. he comes back and gives me a ticket for 40 in a 25 and the weird part is. not radar but pace i think they call it.


but i was kind of wondering. if it was pace he was catching up to me so how would he decide how fast i was going. i was going at worst 35. i think 30 but i do not know. what should i do

this is what i am thinking he was doing

thought i was drinking trying to get a dui bust. (they get 100 dollars for every one in this town).

i just really dont want to pay 200 dollars for something i did not even do. i have never had to go fight one so should i or say f it and pay ??? i mean that is a new tire right there

Go to court, if its your first ticket request taking a class, usually you can just take an eight hour driving class and you don't get any points.

already did the class 1.5 yeas ago and they have a 2 year gap
well maybe 2 tires.

or a pair of taylor wires, k&n c,a,i, short shift kit, electric fans, lowering springs. you pic what u want. lol

Sounds like you should go to court and if the policeman shows up, have him explain how he detrmined you were going 40.

An alternative would be show up in court and start screaming at the judge and cops there, the fat lady in the second row and anyone else you can think of.

Then stop suddenly and ask, in your best Bugs Bunny voice, "So, how's about letting me off, your judgeship?"

OK, the alternate might not work, but it would make for interesting reading here...

do teh alternative, then run out of the courthouse. later that night, be in the chat room and suddenly have to log out & hide from 5-oh because they're checking out where you live.

any one good at getting out of speeding tickets??

I guess that would be me. I've been lot off about 50 times in my life. My longest stretch is 10 in a row. I am currently on a streak of 6. :banana: When I do get tickets (probably around 30+), 90% get dropped to non-moving violations and sometimes the fine dropped.

With that said, here is my advice. Go to court. Ask to speak with the cop before the hearing starts (depending on your area, the cop may do the plea bargain anyway). Ask him VERY politely how he determined your speed. Most cops are happy to explain stuff to you. Insist you have learned your lesson and your speeding days are over. Hopefully, he will talk to the DA (or whoever does the plea bargains) before the trial. After this, someone (the cop, DA, or yo honor), should put a nice deal on the table. Whatever the deal is, take it.

I know in florida if an officer gets you by pacing you, theres a couple criteria that have to be met...I dont know all of them, BUT it must be for at least a mile and within clear visible distance.....hope that helps.

well there is know way a mile was involved in any way i was less then .5 of a mile from my house. and he was gaining on me so would that not make his pace a lot faster then mine?
