Pretty sweet, and i have to say that Top Gear is pretty much the best show in the universe... unfortunately they've taken it off the Discovery channel for the time being... although hopefully they'll bring it back for another season.

Like the way they're sooooo biased against american cars? If they ever tested the Camaro they'd have nothing but bad things to say about it i'm willing to wager.

Very biased. If you watch the vid of the C6 they tested, all they did was b*tch about its horribly "outdated" suspension among other things. Then the Stig took it around the track and they all just about sh*t their pants when they saw how well it did, but of course, it's still an American pile of crap...

The one guy took an old 70 Charger out, and b*tched about its interior and handling as if he expected it to match the cars of today.

Even when Jeremy drove the GT and did nothing but praise it, he brought it back and the other two just picked apart everything they could find. Like the gas mileage was bad and it was nearly impossible to park next to other cars in a grocery store and get out in a tight space... WTF... Who buys a Ford GT for good gas mileage and to go to a grocery store to park in tight spaces among mini vans and old people?!?

Quoted for the truth. Its kind of sad, but its the general opinion of everyone in europe that americans can neither drive, nor build cars. Now i'll half agree with the first of those (especially where i've lived: MA, CA), but the second isn't really true at all. I mean sure Ford, GM, and Chrysler have all turned out some pretty horrid machines.. but pretty much every car company has at least once in their history. Europeans tho have a different style of driving and really look at different things from americans in their automobiles. For example according to the europeans i know (mostly british) their biggest gripe is the wishy washy handling of american cars... its too soft, etc, etc. What they don't realize is that with all the long distance driving done in this country a car that has soft suspension is generally much nicer to ride it... although nowadays its really a moot point.

i think they are biased but i also think its their personal taste like fireball said. i think they focus on handling and interrior a lot instead of raw power, but most of the audi's mercs and beemers even vw are up on the engineering and invention part. i think especially german manufactuers try to perfect things more and try to build the perfect car for basically every class, where as americans car might focus more heavily on one specific thing like our cars. not saying that our interrior is horrible or anything, but i dont think any of us really think about interrior when the word camaro/firebird is mentioned. another thing is price too. you really cant argue about what you get in the z06 for what is cost comapred to other sports cars. but the germans wil make a better car but you will pay for it, like that porsche 911 turbo. i think its a twin turbo 3.6l turbo cranking out 480 with awd wit ha qt mile of 11.4 secs i think, and really probably is a better car then the z06 but cost about twice as much. but even tho the 911 turbo is basically perfect they go and do more engineering stuf liek a add a sport button that when ussed can add 44 more lb/ft of turque in boost, and then they wanna and a special transmission in the future that would cut down the qt mile time and obviously track time. so basically i think top gear is biased but i think they look at other things then just raw power.

Very true, and if you watch the program a lot you'll see that 90% of the cars they review are supercars/sports cars. I'd say roughly every 4th episode they'll review a "normal" car, and half the time its only to do something funny to it (anyone see the "indestructible toyota" segment??). So i'd say their expectations are set pretty damn high.

It outran the flame AND it can go from a standstill to 175 in 5th gear. Incredible car. I didn't like the comment he made about the C6 being "flimsy" though. He's probably just mad that the z06 outperforms anything that Aston Martin puts on the road.

the problem with the host is that he brings politics into it all the time. he says 'yankee', 'the colonies', and in this one he said american friendly fire, refering to when we accidently shot britts in Iraq. Personally I would rather have a plastic interior that costs a few hundred to replace versus an aluminum/fiberglass one that'll cost testicals to replace.
Just like JusFlyinBy said, the C6 was ragged on for its leaf springs and its plastic bumpers.

Yeah, entertaining show, but it irks me with the remarks. Makes 'em almost seem like they are jealous or something don't it?

Just remember, nothing is better then a Jaguar, Aston Martin, or TVR... NOTHING! :p

Ah we're just bitter. Bitter cuz once upon a time Britain used to be the most powerful country in the world... Used to have the most expansive empire the world had ever seen, and a navy to match... Now we're a shell of our former greatness... a tiny insignificant island trying to hold on to one last drop of dignity while slowly sinking into the North Sea.

Don't forget the fact that there is no longer a major british owned car company. I guess ford and gm suck at building their cars too.

The thing I really don't like is how they bash the interior so much. Is it up to the level of a Ferrari? No, not even close. That's not what the buyers of the Z06 want though. If the car didn't hit the nail on the head then why are they still selling for 20k over msrp? I just think they have a hard time giving the under dog credit without taking a few cheapshots at it.
