Re: james, there are a few people that need silenced

    My reply:

    These are always funny threads.

I bought my v6 because it was an upgrade from a 1991 Mercury Topaz. It got me into the f body world. I hve had sooooo much fun with my car. Then I began modifying it. Could I have bought a V8 and done it cheaper, yes. I CHOSE not to do this.

    I LOVE having the V6.

It is extremely funny how people must "look down" on a person for the size of their engine. Makes me wonder if the person is insecure or something.

For the V8 people who do not like the v6.... do you ever wonder if a viper, lambo etc. owner looks at you and laughs because you just have a v8? You could have bought (if you saved your pennies) a V10... or... a V12!

Whoop de doo.... if life matters on the # of cylinder's under your hood then you have some serious issues and I take pity on you.

Is my v6 fast.... in the v6 world yes..... in the f body world... yes..... on an internet based message board focused around modifying f bodies, not really.

Do I care..... nope. It brings a smile to my face all the time at the track.

Sure, over the years people have mocked me for the v6 under the hood. It makes me smile though.... I've gotten into a hell of a lot of magazines with my v6.... GM High Tech, High Performance Pontiac, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and made many friends with it. Have I spent a lot of $ on my v6.... yup... but it was worth it.

I mean.... if I want to play your logic game, should I look down on you if you are slower than me? Should I compare pay checks? Should I compare house size? Should I compare physical size? See, this is silly.... in life everyone is different and has different interests.

I have a v6, I like it, I like modifying it, I like beating V8's at the track, I LOVE beating V8 owner's who think v6's are wastes

    This is my opinion.

      ^^ He11 yes James!!! :D

I think it is extremely shallow to look down on someone cuz of what kind of car you drive/modify, let alone a f'ing engine! Granted I dont like ricers but I dont look down on them or think any less of the driver.

Re: james, there are a few people that need silenced

It's simple, get a life and get over yourself.

A V6 that can top at 160 is a hell of alot more impressive than a V8 that tops at 180.... A V6 that pulls 12 second 1/4s is impressive a V8 that pulls 12s is expected from a tuner! Yes the V8 models are faster and do provide more power for the absolute builder. Personally I have owned many of all, my first was a '94 Chev Cavalier with a 4.3 dropped in it, that was fast and quick as hell, and a little more than over done and dangerous. My second was a '89 Iroc with an LT5 dropped in it and changed to 2 4brls, extremely fast, and ya it would destroy my 95 V6 in all aspects! I enjoy my V6 greatly, I think its fun to play with, great for running around, and all in all impresses almost everyone I know when they find out its only a 6.

All the love for anyone who tunes their cars, and has fun with them. For christs sake I had a '87 Accord with a motor and tranny out of a Prelude, H22 for anyone that knows the engines. That car ate Mustang Gt's for lunch every night.

So for anyone who is hating because of personal preference or else wise, grow up get a life, and learn some respect.

Re: james, there are a few people that need silenced

main reason i picked up my car is because of the deal i got on it...99 a4 camaro, p/w,p/l,cruise, t-tops....all the goodies....all for $4000, had 60k when i bought..........plus insurance is cheaper, gas is cheaper(well, not at the moment) plus my car looks just as good if not better than any z's on the road in my area, ive never had any problems here, but then agian i could give a rats asss what anyone says about me because i drive a "lil ole v6", to me, it takes BALLS to drive around a v6 camaro, lol, and i have em.....plus, i dont hot rod mine or think its fast because i know its not, it gets me to and from work, hauls my daughter and gf around and we still look good doin it

"The Buzzin Half Dozen" Haha remeber that?!

I had talk to a guy one day at the track, he had an 02 ss and me in my 97 v6. I was telling him I had a comp cam, PI vert and so on, he wanted to see the motor. Well when he saw it was a v6 he laughed at me and walked away. Later on, we lined up together, I cut almost a perfect light .009 to his .7 something and a 1.9 60' to his 2.5. He didn't catch me til half track. After the race he comes up to me and says, this is my first time drag racing my 6sp ss. I am sorry about laughing, could you help me launch better? Hahaha, I said yeah don't pop the clutch next time.

As i've said before - any kid with Daddy's check book can have a fast V8. But it takes work and imagination to make a fast V6.

Besides, a V6 handles better than a boat anchor V8.

Now if just there was some support for the 305 V8s, they get reigned on all the time by the 350 guys.

What's funny is the real weight difference between the L36 and the LS1.
