as title says, saw it coming from my left, saw it swoop under right in front of me, thought it would fly back up, next thing i hear a thud, look in my rear view mirror, and saw it on the road flappin one of its wings, i was like wtf? stupid bird, how you gonna go and get hit by a camaro that sits so low to the ground? all i could think about after that was that part in "fear and loathing...." when he's swattin "bats" and then they leave and you see a bat on the ground flapping one of its wings.....hmmm, badasss movie
anyone else ever hit a flying object in their car?

In high school I hit a bird with my old Mercury Tracer. Only it hit my headlight and I looked in my rearveiw only to see it fall straight down and hit the highway. It didnt go under my car, it deflected off and went straight up. I kinda felt bad at first, but I totally forgot about it until I read your post.
So one of my buddies from my dorm was driving his Ranger on the highway as he usually drives it...fast...
Suddenly this pigeon tries to fly across the road. It dissappears in front of his truck. When he gets to his destination we look and the dead bird is stuck in a crack between the headlight and the body.
driving to my friends house in a subdivision with many trees over looking the road, well a damn SQUIRREL fell out of the tree and hit the windshlied legs spread!!!!! i screemed, lol, swurved, and looked into the window to see it flipping in the air after hitting the spoiler, lol.

haha wow i thought of the same thing... awesome movie.. anyways, yea i hit a bird on my street in my old ford probe... never saw it land anywhere, but i saw some feathers fly up lol
The funniest one was when my buddy and I were cruisin on our bikes at 80 mph up the interstate. Two birds dove down, only one went back up. Deflected right off his face shield making his whole head twitch to the side. I was laughin so hard because all I could see was him turn his face toward me going " WTF?!"
Don't worry, the bird just lost control a bit and flew back up and out of the way before a car behind us nailed it. :p
Flying things are dangerous on a bike. A guy near me died of chest trauma when he hit a freaking turkey flying across the road on his bike! :(

My mom worked with a guy rode a bike and a bird hit him while he was riding at a fast speed. He lost control of the bike and died in the wreck.
As much as I would love to have a bike, it sucks because you can be a really safe and responsible rider but it's the other idiots on the road that are going to kill you. I have enough close calls driving in rush hour in my car already...
Granted the guy my mom knew may not have lost control of the bike if he was riding a little more safe.
over my years of driving.. ive hit numerous birds, had a flippin' canadian goose fly into the side of my old grand am, had a possum commit suicide on a country road, 2 raccoons did the same, clipped a deer, and 1 chicken didnt find out what was on the other side of the road. all of these things were not my fault, its like im cursed with wild life committing suicide via my vehicles.
the chicken never stood a chance. it was on a back road with alot of traffic behind me and on coming traffic from the other direction. i wasnt prepared to wreck my car and cause a pile up over a chicken.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it
i hit a bird with the camry doing like 80, its feathers were stuck in my windshield wipers, i also ran over a possum, several times, 2 different days, that was a persistand bastard, i would hit him, then back up to hit him again, fun times in the camry...
