    stupid bestbuy! ! !

    I donno what it is with this place but they keep giving me more reasons to dislike them. I bought a gateway notebook from them in september and it was aggravating because they didnt have the computer I wanted, but The manager said that this one had all the features I wanted. INCLUDING a DVD burner that I specifically asked him about.
    Well I was going nuts for about 6 hours last night trying to burn this video i shot onto my dvd. . And of course i figured maybe I got the wrong DVDRs. . so i went to radio shack and the girl said maybe you dont have a DVD burner, And then I realized STUPID MANAGER LIED TO ME! ! I HAVE A DVD/CDRW COMBO drive NOT A DVD-+R/CDRW DRIVE LIKE HE TOLD ME IT HAD! ! !
    I emailed customer support at best buy. . Im hoping they can help me But i have a feeling they wont. (even thought i spent like 200 bucks on a warranty for this thing).

    any advice on what to do. . . im just aggravated they seriously decieved me. (Thought i know i should have been smart enough to realize it, but i never bought a computer with a dvd burner before so i didnt know much about them at the time)

    I donno if you can do much. Maybe you can take it back if you want, but I would say your best bet is to just upgrade to an DVD Burner. If you don't have a slot (which I doubt you do) you can always go with an external DVD Burner and take it everywhere you go and use it on any computer.

      yeah i figured that it probably wont do much . . Im waiting for an email because I just want to see what they would say.
      I'll check out ebay for some external dvd burners. .

        never buy retail if you can help it. you can replace the DVD/CDRW drive with a DVDRW/CDRW if you want. check out newegg.com and tigerdirect.com.

          ive had my issues with Best Buy
          have vowes to never make a big purchase there again
          they tried to steal my $1500 laptop (plus a $300 "protection plan")

            oh btw, they did a similar thing to my aunt, they had 2 computers available, one with a dvd burner one without. She said it wasnt a big deal if she had one or not, but it the one with the DVD burner had a bigger rebate so it was 50 dollars cheaper. So we said go with that one. They actually sold us the one without a burner for more money

              wow. . . yeah they are really bad over there. Im hoping that they can help me out or at least give me a discount on an external dvd+-rw drive. . .
              I live an hour and a half from the store where i purchased my laptop from so i dont really feel like the ride.
