Hope you have at "least" 400hp if you plan on running from the cops...
Re: Hope you have at "least" 400hp if you plan on running from the cops...
its about time they changed thoose fords. they're old and if they have 230 some hp thats sad plus they have had problems with thoose cars, like a few years ago i think some state sued ford because when the police cars were hit in the rear they blewup because of where the the gas tank was.
Re: Hope you have at "least" 400hp if you plan on running from the cops...
At least 400hp eh? How about at least an LS1, or LS2, or hell, LT1? Im guessing its no rocket at 340 hp and 4,000+ lbs without including police equipment...
Im sure it'll smoke a crown vic, but what wouldn't?
Sorry - that came off as me sounding like a ****, def wasn't meaning that. I think they'd make some pretty bad *** lookin cop cars. But that said, I wouldn't get my panties in a bunch at how lightning fast they are. I can imagine officers all over will be thinking they are unstoppable 'cause its got a "HEMI" and encourage them to pursue at high speeds. Two local troopers passed away, two different situtations, this month losing control of their cars while chasing crotch rockets in the triple digits.
Enough of the downer talk, Pretty intimidating look though! Haha.
I was thinking more along the lines of squad cars but lol, a supra does fit the generic term I gave. I wonder if cops that drive those things ever get tempted to run people......I know I would
Re: Hope you have at "least" 400hp if you plan on running from the cops...
The article says the Hemi version has 340 hp and goes 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, top speed of 150 mph. A stock Z28 will beat the crap out of that thing, as will a Z28 pursuit car. Hell, in a few months my V6 will run that fast to 60 and maybe have around that top speed. Is there something I'm missing here? That's a huge step up from the Crown Vics but it really isn't THAT impressive. That said, I wouldn't want to see one in my rear view mirror. It's not a good idea to try to outrun cops no matter how fast your car is.

Here in Minnesota we have around 10 State Trooper Z-28's that are supercharged from ATI don't know the year exact but they are LT1s, good luck outrunning that car on the highway..... And I don't know exactly what they got but they ran past me and my friend in his dad's slightly moded Z06

Ya actually I have raced a few, the State patrol around here will honestly have fun with you on open no traffic straight runs of the interstate and some hiways, if you drive a sports car. Now don't get stupid and some of them will just write you the ticket and laugh but, we didn't intend on racing him, we were flying down I-35 going about 110 and he kicked it down all the way, at about 140 we saw lights behind us and by 160ish the cop was on our tail end, and shortly there after passed us, we slowed down, the cop slowed down, and then we noticed it was a cop, he waved and we all kept driving.
Re: Hope you have at "least" 400hp if you plan on running from the cops...
at first i got all excited about this... in hopes of seeing a 6.1 L cop car busting out with 425 hp and an intimidating look from the new style charger. needless to say i felt bad that the cops have to deal with the still not so powerful 345 hp 5.7 hemi... blah.
the new charger will be similar to the old caprice, powerful and fun but still having some incredible handling for a car of that size. i dont think any cop car will EVER be as recognized as the Caprice was. it was by far the King of Cop Cars.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
