Hi everyone, I am new to this site.. I have got a 98 Camaro few months ago, it is a V6 and the milage is 102300 now and I was wondering what type of fuel should I use? the specs web page says 87 octane. do you guys think thats a good choice, cause a friend of mine told me that I should use 93 cause the 87 may mess up the engine's head in the long term! is that right?
87 is fine. You really wouldn't need 93 unless you were turbo/supercharged or using nitrous. Welcome to the boards. Lots of info on pretty much everything V6 camaro/firebird. Enjoy the car!

i run 93 all year round. but she's not my daily driver, and has alot of engine and nitrous work. my beater which calls for 87, doesn't run right with out 93
Run 87... if it doesn't run right with 87 you have a problem that needs fixing.
this is of course unless you have some sort of computer tuning, run nitrous, or a higher engine compression or FI.
I just put my stock tune in(well sort of stock), I was starting to get detonation with 87 now that its a billion degrees out. And i don't want to jump up to 93.

Thanks all for the replies, they were all helpfull. I have been using the 93 for couple months now but when I used to use the 87 it used to drive more miles! I guess I am switching back to the 87
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
