Came by this webpage today, and it shows how the new Camaro beats the new Mustang in every aspect. The New Camaro ZL-1 does a 1/4 in 11.5 at 130.6! The V6 version is pulling 14.5 104.4...
Boy I can't wait to see what some of us can pull off with those starting numbers..
Virtual Road tests are no joke. They are simulated by rules of physics and a very good guy on the other end programing the rule sets for the tests.
They do the same thing before they build the cars, or build bridges or even buildings. They are no joke and are extremely accurate.
Its all in the math. Think Ferrari spends a couple million each year designing new cars and hand building them like they do to have a failure? They test every design virtually before they even consider building the car.
Okay well obviously we arn't paying attention to who did this test.. And it would seem we do have math advanced people reading this, or they would know how possible it is to run a test like that. But heh w/e not my problem, just thought it was kinda cool to see. And really is an 11.5 1/4 really that in imaginable out of a 400 especially being we are talking about a car that is 400hp and with an unknown gearing or torque rating? They are saying mid to low 11's on the '06 Z06 thats 500hp with a 7.0 vs a 6.0 and also TESTED above 200mph, so how hard would it be to top around 160 and still pull 11s?
and when you take "things" from a controlled environment & put it out in teh real worls, & it doesn't work, that''s when you get those "math people" scratching their noggins & saying WTF, MATE?

That is overly true, and yes I understand that as much as everyone else, but it does provide a close baseline of what the car will do, it could be quicker, it could be a bit slower. But we know one thing, and thats it is going to be FAST, I didn't expect a stock even low 12s honestly after looking at it at the show.
Most of us have raced enough to know that a bad vs good day can change by a few tenths. So sure in the right conditions it pulls 11.5 but I say thats good to go.
So the V6 is gonna run 14.5 and trap faster than some stock LS1s? That thing must have a ****ing MONSTER top end
A monster top end for drag? Erm I think you got yourself backwards there...
But never the less they never did say what V6 they are planning on using..
And the new 3.8 Series 3 is 260hp, and it is possible for them to bring back the 4.3 for this car, maybe a super charged 3.5? Who has a clue what they may be using. And honestly I ran my friends '06 Mustang V6, it runs low 15's with a CAI. So honestly is 14.5 so hard? They are also yet to release a weight on this car, I would sure like to know.
I wish they would release a few more details publically.
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
