I agree with just about everyone in... it would be nice for there to be an option of an FI V6 from the factory, but I personally take pride in the fact that my horsies are NA, so I would be dissapointed if all of them were... which they're not going to be. Here's what I hope... there are several options, sort of like 96 when they reintroduced the SS. Have a strong, but economical V8, and then have an SS with a balls out Mustang killer. A V6 with a little more horsepower would be a plus as well.

and as for this thread... I think we can all agree that we want GM to do something special, everyone has their opinions (FI v. NA) just like Ford v. Chevy there's really no point in arguing about it because no matter how many facts or statistics.... simulated or not... you're not going to change someone's opinions or personal preference. Opinions are great to hear but stupid to argue about

personally im going to go with motor trend and say that gm will have a v6 that will probably have 240 hp stock, maybe a little more since the challenger will be released. i don't see gm investign time in money in a v6 camaro since the cars are know for v8, so i think 240hp is abotu as good as it gets for a base v6 i also see gm havign a more power v8 then the mustang gt and since it is going to come out in 09 and newer engiens will be out the 6.2l escalade engine is a safe bet and the 505 z06 engien woudl be a good match for the gt500. i dont see any chance of getting a blown 6 in a camaro from the factory. i think gm wants classic v8 power for the camaro and wants to have all the power o nthe top of the line models liek always, i do think there will be a extended amout of aftermarket mods for the 6's tho. as far as 350z's go and cars like that, i dont think gm is going to have their base model car match a well tuned prefromance car, thats what the z28 and ss/zl1 are for.

and it will be more reliable since it can take the added boost since its a lower compression motor.

don't know how you figure that, since as another member (in another thread, the "srt-4 club" thread) put it, those things start to crap out after 60K

This would be GM marketing...... create a buzz for a car that isn't out..... get the focus off GM which is failing and have the buzz of an 11.5 super camaro.

I sure hope they build something amazing, and I know infact almost all the American motor companies are falling on thier faces right now. As much as I hate the car, the Focus is saving Fords rear! The neon is saving Dodge, and Gm really hasn't done anything to really take a strong stance, instead they are dropping 5.3L V8s into "FAMILY CARS", which are being built like crap, they are dangerous, they get horrible gas millage... Why when for near the same price you can buy and I hate to say a nice Nissan Altima, which is a safer, better built, longer running, better millage car, with lower insurance...

As far as American vehicles go, only ones I'll touch is a sports car, a bike, and a GMC HD 2500 or above truck... And only reason I say GMC is because in the new lines they are soooo much better then the Chev, if you are looking for a solid built truck.

Other than that European cars have got me and about the rest of the world already. BMW, Aston Martin, Lotus, Audi, Volvo, Jaguar <*they are fixing thier **** and going back to the old ways*... These cars have been known for years to run scary long, clean, great millage, and their saftey makes our cars look like pop cans that do 100mph.

my dad has a 300 D with 170K (it's a diesel, they're supposed to last long); let's just say it's parked, and he's using the 2001 Jetta, which is also diesel, and needs repairs all the time as well.
