I SAW that... i was like "wtf?!? Dominos?!" but yea... i think they're going a little overboard on what they should air. (oh yea, and the ro sham bo tournament was an interlude in a poker tournament)

England clinched a spot in the second round today, so i'm pretty happy, tho i missed the game :(. Sweden v. Paraguay was a snooze fest, but it was cool how the swedes knocked paraguay out in the 89th minute.

Saturday the U.S. have to beat Italy. Which is not going to happen, so i guess its back to the drawing board for them. So much for being ranked 5th (wtf is with that anyway? They're quite obviously not the 5th best team in the world).

Stat wise FIFA ranked them fifth. Just because Brazil is ranked numero uno doesn't mean Brazil has to win every single game, they can have their bad days to, correct?

Hopefully :p In fact i'd like it if they had one of their bad days in the second round :stp:

I can't believe that Argentina trounced S&M 6 - Nil... simply amazing.. i wonder what happend to Serbia's vaunted defense?

Did you know that since 1958 the world cup winner has alternated between a s. american team and a european team? Its true, and since the last world cup was won by Brazil, i'm going out on a limb and saying its going to be either Germany, the Netherlands, or England this year.

I don't think England is playing well enough. Brazil on the other hand looked damn good in their opener. We shall see in July.

Ghana beat the Czechs! If we lose to Italy, mathematically we still have an oppurtunity. Still 1-1.

Stop plagiarizing off the internet Mark :spank:, haha im just joking. The Argentina game was crazy.. better than the Mexico vs. Iran game.

USA just tied it with ITALY 1-1. pretty good game IMO..
it was going back and forth.. a nail biter if you ask me.

I was pissed when Beasley scored but they called offsides. I was so excited and then i hear, "But wait, no goal its offsides." Like i said though, now if Italy beats the Czechs and we beat Ghana we can advance to round numero dos

Has anyone else noticed that the refereeing has been attrocious so far? That Italy US match was unbelievable, the ref. must have been bribed... or on crack... he was giving cards out like candy.

                          Re: World Cup

de rossi did a number on mcbride's eye, but it wasnt intentional. even the announcers said that when you go up for a header, you keep your arms up to protect yourself. Mcbride wasnt doing that, De Rossi was simply thrusting his arms to try to get up a bit higher, and happened to hit mcbride.

Pope was being an *******, he deserved to get the red...

if only Zaccardo hadnt scored the own goal. he wasnt taking his time, and kicked under the ball, and it just bounced backwards.
Italy just wasnt taking shots towards the end, they had loads of chances, and took nothing.

Blah, im not going argue, so im just going to say it was a good game between USA and ITALY. Obviously both teams could have done better, but thats how it is. A goals a goal STEVE, doesnt matter who or how it was made. I think that even if Zaccardoe or who ever that was, wouldnt have touched the ball it still would have gone in. The opponent had a clear shot IMO. Im just happy USA didnt lose that game, regardless of upcoming matches for the US because everyone was convinced that USA had no chance against ITALY. Plus i made a huge bet as well :naughty:.

OMFG, i cant wait for the Mexico vs. Portugal. IMO i think that if Jared Borgetti comes back it'll be a good match. It sucks that he suffered from a injured hamstring or muscle tear on his left thigh. I hope he recovers quickly.. eventhough they still have Marquez and Fonseca.
