Re: New Guy Looking For Advice.

So I went to go look at it today, I had to drive 5 hours total but it was worth it, it was in great condition, no spider webs, little scratches but nothing major, just had a tuneup, NO TTOPS, It had a dual flowmaster exhaust which sounded great, It was owned by a girl and she was the first owner so I trust she took good care of it, she want's a hybrid. I've been shopping around and this one was the best. I wanted the car so I gave her a deposit and I will be picking it up next week. I got it for 4500 cash, so i thought it was a great price for being automatic.

NBM is a nice color. Nice chrome wheels too. Check the RPO codes on the door or in the glove box against our database too see what options it has.

Another thing: make sure all the body panels line up right. Examples are the rear quarter/spoiler line, hood/front fascia line. If any of these lines are off it's likely been wrecked. Unless they took it to a DAMN good body shop, the lines are likely to be imperfect.

Other than that, make sure the paint looks good without a bunch of products gunked on it. I'd hate to see you buy a car that looks good on the lot, then a coupla weeks later it looks like a$$ because all the fillers and waxes have washed off.

Make sure it's mechanically sound, take it for a good test drive. Romp on it a little bit to make sure it runs ok. SES lights are BAD lol.

Good luck and welcome to the world of v6 f-bodies. :)

BTW, just saw the picture and it looks great from what i can see. I think NBM is the best looking color as well! I have one though, so i'm biased.

Re: New Guy Looking For Advice.

Yeah I test drove it already, those flowmasters sounded nice. The car handled well, the brakes were good and it ran well. The paint was good too, few scratches, but it is used so I understand. I fell in love with the car and I'm gonna bring it home on Monday, it's in San Diego and I'm in Los Angeles, so it's about a two hour drive, i think i'm gonna take the train.

There are plenty of people that can do it.... make a new post here int he lounge.. title it "Can someone run a carfax for me?" or something to that effect.

You'll probably get a reply within 2 days or so, and delete the thread after that.

Or you can just pay the $30 or whatever it costs... it's a small investment for your car.
