    Re: What's your story???

Well I had a brand new 05 Cobalt coupe, got the first orange one the dealership received. It wasn't what I wanted but my grandparents (who I live with) said they would only co-sign for a brand new car. So gracefully I purchased it and started to mod it heavily b/c payments were sorta low I could afford all the aftermarket goodies. However after one year of ownership the car had been keyed, dented, spit on, all the typical jealous teenager things that happen to a nicer car on the lot; plus it was still slow. One day I decided I wanted something else, I was looking online at RSX's and Si's and my camaro popped up on autotrader with the RSX's on accident, right when I saw it I called the dealership and said have the car ready. I went later that same day and bought it. In love ever since.

Well Mom has always had a Camaro and after she got rid of her 1982 Z-28 she was looking for a new one in 2000. The Camaro was sitting on the show room floor of course no one wanted it because it didnt have no power windows or locks and had been moved from dealership to dealership. First car i learned how to drive and now she has givin it to me. Now she has to drive a 1500 truck and hates it but she is now wanting the new 3.9L 2008 or 09 Camaro whenever they plan on bringing them out.

        Re: What's your story???

Was turning 16, and we had 2 cars, between me and one of my brohters, a 85 2.8L camaro(from my oldest bro) and a 89 Grand am... from my aunt.

My middle brother had already totaled 3 cars and was the worst at maintenance, that my dad gave me the Camaro thinking it woudl need more work.

I had that until I blew the motor a few years later, really fixed up real nice.

Then I had a truck, then I got a 94 3.4L 5-speed Camaro... I raced it drove it, did all my work, killed some transmissions clutches and rears, then basically owned that thing until a college student liek me drove it to close to death. Sold it for $1k with it needing tires, brakes, rotors, and a transmission.

Then I purchased my 2k 3.8L Camaro 5-speed off of my dad, vowing to keep it stock, nad not dragrace it but autocross it a bit, but I wanted to see how it woudl do stock, pulled a 15.2, then wanted to fight for 14s, and tweaked it down to the 14.4, then kept running it hard, added some mods, kept drag racing it, then killed the clutch. put a new one in and threw in differnet rear.. Took it to the track killed the transmission, put a new one in, and not long after the rear started crapping out. But for some reason this one whines.

now looking for a quiet rear to put in and just keep driving the car as a daily driver.

          Re: What's your story???

I was saving up my money to buy this '89 GTA convertible made by PAS. It was a unique car in everyway. I already have an '89 Firebird with a 2.8 engine. I thought having a V8 would complete my desire.

In late 1997 I was completely destroyed when I saw this white '98 T-top Firebird parked in a Burger King lot. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It was beautiful in every aspect. The early 4th gen never attracted me like it did the 3rd gen but the 98 + got my attention.

I went to my local dealership and saw a line up of '98 Camaro, TA and Firebirds. The black Firebird was the best looking one in the line up. I test drove it and it ran just as fast as the GTA.

I bought brand new off the lot with only 14 miles on the dot. Four months later I crashed it. Why, because I was driving it like I stole it. The performance bug bit me. I planned on trading it for a TA or a Formula after I had some fun with it. After I crashed it and got an estimate of $2800 to fix it I felt like dirt. I was totally disrespecting it.

As soon as it got fixed I made a vow that I will never abuse it and I would learn to love it for the way it is. I bought my exhaust and instead of buying the intake, I bought a Supercharger from Vector Perf. I'm actually one of the first ones to be SC. You know the funny thing is, I don't have any desire at all to have a V8. Maybe someday.

Yup, this car will stay with me forever.

got my permit in may of 2004, looked at cars, both my bro and sis have mustangs. wanted a v8 stang maybe maro. had like 12k saved up. i was debating b/t a 98 gt vert with 38k miles, a 01 z28 vert black 59k miles. was all gung ho to buy the z, guy wanted 9500. found out it was rearended years back so i immed stayed away. went out to breakfast one morn and my bro said i saw a maro at the local dealership, got there when they opened and took a look. nice but i realized that the 97 rs was only a v6. sharp lookin car had 52,224 miles on it. test drove it, liked it, needed leather seats was a big thing it didnt have. finally went back and bought it for 8600 with tax out the door. over the last 2 yrs i put about 5k into it and put on about 5500 miles.

              Re: What's your story???

              Mom leased it in 1997
I begged and pleaded with her for an LT1.... she said no
1998 she decided to upgrade to a C5.
              Firebird was damn cheap.
I got it instead of my 91 mercury topaz.
I spent 1-2 years being picked on by all the local 5.0 stangs, 3rd gens etc
              Bought nitrous
              Sprayed
Beat EVERYONE who picked on me
Then began picking on anyone with a v8
Got humbled REALLY bad by a TT C5
              Now I race it only.
I've driven it 5 times this year maybe>??

In a lot of states they mandate forward-facing seats for children under a certain age. You def. can't fit one of those in our cars.

I think you have that backwards. Rear-facing seats are mandated for infants up to a certain height/weight. Those woulld have a hard time fitting into an f-body.

People have posted here that forward facing seats for babies/toddlers will fit.
