4th gen V6s, will they worth much in the future? It's the only generation with a decent base V6, which is why I think they're going to hold their value better than a third gen V6.

    What's everyone else think?

They will be worth more than a 3rd gen V6, but no they won't be a collector's car. The production numbers aren't too high and they aren't exactley desirable now so I doubt they will be in the future.

Am I right in saying the only different between a Z28 and a base model (In 1995) is the engine, and a different designation on the VIN?

Do you think it'd be worth more with a V8 swapped in?

Those '67, '68 Camaro/Firebird I6 are worth a lot of money and to the collectors. Some do swap bigger engines in it. Others leave it be for shows.

3800 has a good reputation, I think it will be a collectors item 20 years from now.

In the end it will come down to who wants the car and how much they are willing to spend. An original low milage car with no modifications generally sells higher than a base trim car that has been modified to be the same as a higher trim level car. Of course if 4th gens become rare and someone really wants a trans am then they may be willing to pay a premium for a firebird that has been converted.

I think they will have some value in the future, but don't plan on sending your kid to college with one. The only reason I think they will have value is for hottrodders looking to swap in a v8, maybe cut it up for a race car. Its the same deal for 60's muscle. People buy junkers, ditch the straight 6 or low po v8, throw in a stout v8, paint suspension, etc and now its a car worth something. Normally adding expensive parts increases a cars value, but on rare cars or rare optioned cars, they are worth more with there original drivetrain. A new SS camaro will be worth some money if original, but modified not as much. My 69 camaro is a 307 powerglide 10 bolt, manual drum car. It now sports a 350, 4 speed, moser 12 bolt, and Baer power brakes. Its worth more now than original, but if my car were a z28 or RSSS, then it wouldn't be worth as much as stock.

The good news for the fourth gens in general is that the fifth gen looks like a cheap knock off of the original camaro. Basically our cars were the last with an original design, and will probably be worth something (maybe not a lot persay) 20 or 30 years down the road just for that reason alone.

The cars are never going to be worth a lot; just enjoy using them.

Werd, I know my car with 180,000+ on it won't be worth a damn penny. So I just keep on cruising.

I've put 30k miles in the past 2 years alone. I plan on adding another 15k this next year and who knows in the future? My car is going to rack up the miles so I doublt it will be worth much anyways. I plan on running it until it dies and buying a new camaro or totally rebuilding mine.

I don't see them ever being worth what a comparable V8 would be at any given time, but that's not to say people won't see some value in them. One thing that's a possible consideration is the fact that if you look at who is the majority owner group of V8 4th-gens, it's going to be someone either thrashing the crap out of it or using it as a daily-driver. The price of a used one is affordable to anyone at the moment, and the value might still sink. This makes the V8 cars very available, and susceptible to abuse. It could wind up being a scenario where in the future, the sixxers will have fewer miles on them, or have seen less undesirable action. But, you never know.

only way they will be worth anything is if they are low milrage like 30 years fom now.

and even then I see it being worth like $10-15k

I don't understand low mileage cars.... Why own a car, just so its a nice thing for the next owner? Drive the ****ing thing and enjoy it.
