so the last few days ive looked at a few ls1s.

one was a 98 formula built to hell and back! all forged motor cammed everything. setup for 150 shot of juice and he says it'll hold a 300 shot no problem. beautiful car for 12.5k. but dunno about it, i think it might be too much car for me right now lol.

next is a 99z28 with the rs body kit. its a friend of a freinds car. he had it dyno'd at 343rwhp and 353rwtq. full bolton A4 car. price - 10700. car has been well taken care of. only reason he's selling it is becuase he bought a house and needs the money.

last one i havent looked at yet, but its a 01 camaro ss. 11k on the odometer for 11999. sounds like a nice car though.

im leaning towards the 99 since i know the guy and trust him. hopefully this week ill make my mind up.

by the way.. the trans am will be mine still. well, the wifes but it'll still be in my possession. which is awesome. :banana: she needs a new car, i want a faster one. its a win-win situation for me! lol

Go SS. A lot more rare, valuable, and desireable. And if power is a problem, you can always mod it.

Call me crazy but I'd rather have a 2002 z28 than a 1999 SS. The 2002 engine will probably dyno more or possibly the same. I would build my car up to my specifications rather than keep it the 1LE stock option. To each their own.

i thought there were only three cars...did i miss something... here are the cars

a. 98 Formula built to hell

c. 01 SS with 11k miles

I would probably lean towards the 99 because like you said you know the guy and know that the car has been maintained well. Go check out the 01 and if you aren't positive that you want that one go 99.

HokieBird touched on an important point. I would go with the car that has a PROVEN maintanence history. You know how your friend treated the car so it's a bit safer of a buy.

Any car that has been "built to hell and back", has probably also been beat to hell and back. Although, there is some credibility to someone who has put that much money into a car, so you may be OK.

My choice would be take a serious look at the SS. You don't find them with that low mileage everyday.
