Give me idea's on how to sell my truck!

Alright guys. I need some major help. I need to get rid of a 2004 Chevy Silverado. I don't want to make any money off of my truck, I just want someone to pay what I owe on it. I owe around....say $19k. Biggest problem is that it's only 2 wheel drive. It's fully loaded and everything. Whenever someone finds out its only 2x4 they walk away almost instantly. I'm not advertising on the net or anything because I don't know what to use. (other than autotrader.com)

What other websites can I list my truck on? Also- is asking for $19k for an '04 truck too much? Is that really unreasonable? I mean, I can't go lower if I wanted to, ya know? Dealers are selling 04's for over $20k still. Everyone tells me I'll be stuck with this truck for a few more years. The truck is under warranty for two more years, if I would sell it privately, could I transfer the warranty to the new buyer? Cuz that would be a nice selling point.

Think of ideas I can do to sell my truck! Please- anything is a good suggestion! I'm stuck on how to sell this sucker! PLEASE HELP ME!! I want to get back into a Firebird!!!

Ok, here's my take:

You can list your truck on craig's list, or locally through your newpaper, or an auto classifieds mag(my city has a "Wheels Deals" magazine just for cars for sale).

As long as the warranty you have is the factory warranty, you're golden. The warranty covers the car, not the owner.

There aren't many things you can do to convince a buyer that they really want a 2x4 instead of a 4x4. In my experience, aftermarket goodies tend to help sell a vehicle. A stealership won't give you jack for your $5,000 stereo, or $3,000 wheels/tires. However, the value of your aftermarket stuff to a private consumer will be a bit higher. I once sold a POS acura integra for almost $1,000 more than it was worth just because I had some nicely cleaned aftermarket wheels on it(the tires were even bald ).

Do you have any aftermarket items on the truck? Would you be willing spend a little on the vehicle to help "sell" it. I sold my 2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7L 2x4 for well over what I owed. It had a sprayed on bed liner, aftermarket rims(Uniquewheels black steel wheels @ $70 each), almost new mud tires, and an average sony stereo. It completely changed the look of the truck, and I had guys banging down my door.

I know that buying more stuff on a car you are going to sell seems stupid. It really won't make the car appreciate any more either. BUT, if $700.00 worth of goodies gets the car out from under you, it might be worth it. Just a thought.

Use kbb.com, nada.com, and edmunds.com to figure out what fair market value for the truck is. It is unlikely that you will get more than fair market value. autotrader and cars.com are the top selling sites that I check out. vehix is new, but I haven't tried them.

If you have a local classifieds magazine (we have something called the pennysaver), you can do that as well. Nobody will buy it if they don't know about it.

too bad ur in PA.. i''ll be lookin for a truck almost exactly like that in a few months.. and i actually want a 2x4... and i want a silverado.. haha oh well

Go to s10forum.com and list it in the classifieds there. Being 2WD, it'll be easir for them to lower and stuff. It doesn't matter that it's not a S-10, they sell everything on their forum, so register and give it a try.
